Just because you don't want to believe it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Nobody believed the performante time. Then the gt2 RS time. Could the M2 go faster with a driver with bigger balls? It's possible

How many times does it have to be said that was not a stock Type R that ran that time? It had a stripped interior, different tires, roll cage, and that's just what we know. It just goes to show how effective this misdirection can be for a manufacturer when they trumpet Nurburgring times. Lots of people actually think the car you buy at the dealer is the same car that ran that time which is false.

Here's what the cars do stock at the C&D Lightning lap. Type R does do very well but it's 2 seconds slower around that track than a manual transmission M2.

Apparently, one more time

I said REproduced, can you read? Do you know what the prefix "re" means?

It's a modified car as well, JFC.

Why would we ignore the entire body of evidence for the ONE outlier? Your comprehension skills are lacking. No one is disputing it's a great car, or that it's in the same league.

Probably won't be the last as in another month someone else blinded by the Nurburgring false hype will come by and tell us all once again how the Type R is faster than an M2.

I read that you said reproduced. Did I ever dispute that it's never been reproduced? No.

And I wasn't aware that it's modified

Sorry, I was probably a bit rough but it's been posted about 95 times.

Anyway, I said nothing to the effect of that I didn't believe they ran that video taped lap. I don't believe they could do it again with a stock car.

I said the time hasn't been reproduced. Which it hasn't. Sport Auto didn't even come close.

Honda has been incredibly misleading. Take a look at this best motoring video with the FK2 vs FD2 vs the NSX- R. It was having trouble with the FD2 and even the driver of the FK2 said the tires were the major limitation. There is no way the FK2 could have done it in that 'record' time in production trim.

I wouldn't worry as lots of people were under the impression it was stock as has been said Honda has been incredibly misleading with this whole thing. That doesn't take away the fact that it's an amazing FWD car and on certain tracks may be as fast as an M2. I just wish that all manufacturers would use stock cars for their Nurburgring times.

Here's the article from C&D regarding the Honda Type R that was used.
Please keep in mind, every manufacturer when posting time on the Nurb will have techs that adjust the car to conditions, bring new tires etc. Some will also bring multiple cars and drivers to achieve their time. Also, track conditions for that day & time will alter times.

Not sure if this was posted on here before, but an interesting time test comparison from a dead stop, between the RS3, Type R, A45 and M2.

Yeah, the CTR is a great car and punches above it's weight. If the Civic had the same amount of power it might be faster on several tracks. Shame that BMW's chassis and suspension tuning are not up to Honda levels in the F8x series cars. Both great cars. I doubt too many buyers will cross shop though, given the image implications.
