First curbed 788m alloys

4000 miles later and I've had my first fuck up, as the title says I curbed my wheel while parking.

Anyone in the UK know where around London/South East I could get this sorted out?!

It's barely a nick, that can be easily repaired.

Is that the "black" wheel option? I think some touch up paint will be fine and at 2 or 3 feet you can't tell.

^ Hardly "barely a nick" and not easily repaired to color match. Someone took the time to post this and is obviously an issue to them. The tinted clear on these wheels is extremely difficult to match. OP be very selective who you choose to make the repair. Unfortunately, I only know of one guy here.

Since these wheels are so unpopular for some reason, they sell for reasonable prices in the classified section and on eBay.

Buy an extra new set and keep them in storage for days like these.

I did this because I've had unpleasant color-matching experiences from repaired wheels.

Damn sorry to see that, OP.

I've curbed both of my front 437M wheels, know the feeling.

Have left mine as they are, battle scars and all.

It happens to the best of us.

Sorry to see. As mentioned, easily repaired. The wheel has machined front, so no paint will be involved. The repair company will sand the spots down and smooth it out. It will look near-perfect when done if the company is good.

GL!

Edit: Not 100% about paint if this is "black" wheel option. I think both colors have machined fronts.

Sorry about the wheel rash.

It sucks but it's hard to avoid, especially for those of us that parallel park often with low profile tires.

I got my first minor curb rash on the passenger side front wheel 2 weeks after I got my car. I just got my second curb rash earlier today and this time it was on the passenger side rear wheel. I was irritated both times it happened but it's just the wheels and it's not worth getting upset about.

I have a harder time parallel parking this car and judging how close I can get to the curb because I forget about the wider rear wheel track/arches.

This is good advice. I did the same and don't feel so bad when it happens. But so sorry this happened to OP!! It will work out!

I say, honestly.....take a step back......breathe......just leave it. The important stuff is still intact and performing as intended.

My girl curbed both wheels on the right side of the M2.

Didn't give 2 shits. It's just a car. Enjoy it.

This is such a problem, just need to get used to the wider arches. I prefer to park closer to the curb to avoid the car being outside the line and more on the road since most roads are quite small over here.

Thank everyone, will look around to see what the best option is.

Just so annoyed that it helped so soon

I agree it's definitely annoying but try not to let it get you down. I also plan to parallel park not as close to the curb as I'm used to doing. Plus once the wheels get enough curb rash, it may be excuse to get different wheels eventually.

Gently curbed mine at the Ring while on ED. A mild tank slapper on the curbing which is deceptively high lol. Greatest souvenir ever. Actually puts a smile on my face when I wash that curbed wheel.

It’s a tinted clear lacquer over a machined face. I had mine done by a mobile repair guy (who did a great job) but he works in south west near Bath and doubt he’ll come to your area.
