What Tire Size do you have on your OEM Wheels?
Want to get a feel of what everyone out there is doing. Don't know if I should go OEM or wider.
If you don't have OEM wheels, feel free to post your wheel/tire size combos. |

Not sure why you wouldn’t go OEM size?

I was thinking of going wider as well but wondered if it would negatively affect performance (accel/top speed/mpg's) but would perhaps improve handling and definitely the cosmetics

Yes they have. I never got a chance to see them, and am thinking about doing the same thing you're thinking about. I was going to go OEM size, but the rear 265 PS4S have disappeared from Tirerack. They do have the 255/275 combo. It would be nice to see some pictures.

Pics are back, postimage meltdown... links edited.
Had a chance to drive my favourite road since scrubbing the green rubber off, twice this last weekend. All I can say about the PS4S is wow! Massive grip. On the last stretch I was in fuel saving mode, manually shifting and staying in taller gears than usual. I still ran down a Focus RS. Guess he must have been low on fuel too. Maybe not a big difference to the PSS but compared to the Contis... just wow! |

It was worse when I was 10mm lower with stock wheels/tires with 10mm spacers all around. I don’t think it would rub at all at stock height. |

I have been running the OEM sized 4S for a little over 20,000 miles (had the terrible Conti's for the first 10,000). After a fair amount of thought and an ambien I ordered the 255 front 275 rears in the 4S to replace my current 4S. After taking the 4s off and putting my track wheels and tires on I see they actually have more tread depth than I had thought even after 21,000 miles and 2 track days so the 255/275s will sit in the garage for a while but I will be able to give a apples to apples comparison once I have experienced the 4s in both sizes. My rational for upsizing is this is the tire size on the M4/M3 and others have reported good things or at least no negative consequences of going with these slightly wider tires. 10mm is less than 1/2 an inch of tread width so I am not expecting a big change. I won't be tracking these tires because I now have a set of Cup2s and OZ Racing wheels for the track so I won't be able to give a track comparison.

I'm assuming you're leaving out the price of the installation and including the mail-in rebate in your price?
