Muffler mode done.

Here is how our stock muffler is looking from the inside:

Already, it looks pretty much straight pipe like we though, so there was only two things that could be done to it in order to get more volume.

Which is to completely remove and seal bottom pipe(middle chamber), and remove current mid pipe, and set bigger one which should go trough directly to the left exhaust tips and bypass that small chamber on the side:

Here is how it looks after:

We sealed every up, and the result in the was bit more volume, and huge amount of explosions in sport/sport+ and traction mode.

When I say huge amount, I seriously mean that those bangs explosions doesn't want to stop....

From the inside, we have perfectly retained the comfort mode were you can't notice any difference or drone, while in sport+, there is indeed more volume with already added 200cell downpipe.

Unfortunately, it's raining today so there was no possibility to make fly by video, but I made one in traction mode and other in sport+ while still in the garage.

The engine was cold, and this is how it sounded just up to 4-5k.

Traction mode.

Sport+ (cold engine)

Overall, I regret why I didn't do this two years ago, and waited to grow some balls first, before I decided to pull the trigger on 80 bucks mode...

I guess the market price for stock muffler will go up after this post.

Just compared it with few mpe videos online, and it sounds quite identical.

Although know that this muffler still has stock resonator. With resonator off the volume would be even higher.

But personally this is good enough for me, at least for the next 30 days.

Your short clips sound great, thanks! Curious to see if there's any side effects like increased drone...

Not drastically different, id say 10/15% louder?
Considering how cheap it is (paid 3 and a half hour labour, and how oem it looks, i think it a no brainer

I kept the resonator in place, stock downpipe

Would appreciate it if someone took a video of stock to compare?

With valve closed it will act/sound exactly as stock.
discussed this option too with the shop, but there really isn't enough room on the valve side of the exhaust to feed piping through

Thanks so much for posting this! Are the burbles/pops still there? Love the way the M2 stock exhaust sounds, just want more volume and aggression! 100% doesn't sound like fart can right?

Pops and bangs are way louder and there is indeed bit more deeper noise from 3-4k RPM.

From 5k+ It sounds almost same when it comes to sound frequency.

The middle pipe should be bit wider, and I would recommend to completely cut off that small pipe, in order for all gases to go straight out.

I had joy ride in town today, and people funny reaction proved to me that it was worth it.

Thanks for detailing this mod. How’s the drone? Are you saying the comfort mode still works? Who? What exhaust tips are those? Can you post a link?
Thanks!

Comfort mode works, as exhaust clamp closes the left side of the exhaust muffler.

No drone in comfort mode. There would be drone if we have cut off the resonator, that's why most of the people with MPE noticed the significant drone level increase.

Sounds good.

Looking at your pictures it looks like the right side (looking from the tailpipe side) is always open?

Yes, and the gases flow is reduced as it's small diameter 60mm.
