I recognize that scenery, used to ride many of those roads on my motorcycle, it will be next spring in my 135. The Lolo pass is a must do between Lolo and Missoula. Thanks for the great pictures.

What kind of camera did you use?

The pictures look great, did you use any real or virtual 'filters'?

For most, I used my Canon 5D Mark IV with 24-70mm f/2.8 IS lens. No filters, just some minimal editing and processing in Lightroom and/or Photoshop.

Do you have version I or II of the lens? Either way, that's a hell of a lens. Nice shots. Good to see a fellow enthusiast doing some driving and getting some beautiful pictures.

Are you on Flickr?

Enjoy it in good health.

It's a version II. Amazing lens, my favorite all-purpose and travel lens for sure.

Thanks!

Not on Flickr, but am on 500px (https://500px.com/bwhip/galleries), and my blog is at bwhip.com.

Wow, those are gorgeous too. You've got mad photo skills.

Is your car always perfectly clean and ready for a photo shoot, lol?

Hahaha, thanks. Yes, it pretty much always is. I've taken driving/photo trips where I washed it four times in three days.

Not sure if it was answered already in one of your posts but what exactly do you carry with you on these types of trips?

I'm assuming a fuel can due to the small size of the tank in the M2 and remote locations.

It's actually rather ugly and full of white separatists; we advise that you go to Oregon on your next vacation instead

The scenery is great and this is a really nice travelogue.

Truth be told, there are vast swatches of this state that look very much like the pictures contained in this very nice post, including where I live and just adjacent to it; the drive passed not all that far from where I spend most of my time, and originated not far from where I spend a third of my time, when I am working.

I do, however, have other cars that would be more fun to drive this route on, such as a 1M and even my 135is Convertible. The M2 is however a nice car and probably more comfortable to be in than those other cars, if that is what you are seeking.

Haven't needed a fuel can yet. Range is more of an issue with my bikes than this car, though the tank certainly isn't very large.

I don't need to carry much, just a small bag with my change(s) of clothes, a small camera bag with body and a couple of lenses, and various cleaning supplies and dry towels in the trunk

- oh, and my radar detector, of course.

We're not talking about the 3rd world, here. I doubt that there was a stretch of even 60 miles on this route without at least one gas station.

None of the pictures are working anymore and when I'm trying to visit the site manually it says it doesn't exist. Is this right? If so, please fix the OP.

Still working okay for me, I wonder if it was a temporary issue with the site?

Beautiful photos. Thanks for posting. The pics of the M2 on the bridge were my favorites.
