The only way I would buy a black car is if I hired a butler first.

BSM , and its predecessor DS ( diamantschwartz) are actually able to hide a fair amount of dirt. They are actually a really really dark gray metallic.

I always wanted to own a JET BLACK E30 M3 sport evo..

And I would love it for BMW to bring out the M2 CS in orange and silver , and then shock the world and bring out something like Jet Black, Cinnabar or Imola Red and Alpine White on an M2 CSL as a throwback to the E30 M3 Sport Evo and/ E46 M3 CSL.

Mix and match? I'd be open to that. Silver is still the go to color for hiding dirt and almost always looks good no matter how grimy.

I'd take Carbon Black in a heart beat. I have never owned a Black car, Dark Grey is as close as i ever get. I have mad respect for a clean well respected Black car.

Are we off topic yet?

I definitely give credit to those who own a black car and keep it pristine clean. I couldn't do it, would drive me crazy. My buddy has an E30 M3 in silver and I just saw a mint EVO version in black. Must say it looked real nice, but I would still go silver. Many think it's dull, but to me it looks classy. DB5 in silver anyone? I digress...even a 550 Maranello in silver looks better than it does in red or black. All personal of course.

Looking forward to seeing the new Hockenheim(lich) silver on the CS and hopefully on the CSL with Motosport stripes and side BMW badges like old school with a modern flare just like the French dude rendered. They should hire him!

Agreed that the Monholo Oumar renders (France) are excellent (see here):

It would be very expensive, $130k and beyond.

Why not get a GT3 then? Available now and they accept lightly used souls for a limited time.

You are right, my soul is barely worth half of that, but Porsche won't take it on trade. Seriously though, this car could be way better, and looks the part. Time for BMW to do battle!

I would have preferred MT too. But I did take the M-DCT.

Way more than 5%, buddy. Every woman I know with an M2 has manual- except for me. I got a HEA and on the list for an '18 manual.

The 6MT take ratio in the US would be even higher than 52 percent if all the HEA buyers were able to pick their gearbox. Instead, most dealers chose DCT for them.
Yeah basically. I cancelled my LCI order. I got another manual BMW and I'll take my chances not being on any CS CSL etc list and deciding when it's released if it's worth it.

I think you can attribute a lot of the MT orders for the M2 to the magazine reviewers who seemed to almost unanimously emphasize thar the MT was the thing to get. I hadn't seen so much praise for manual trans for other car reviews.
NOTHING a silly vehicle reporter says will sway me one way or the other. fun is fun, boring is boring... IMO.

lol!! take it ez tuff guy! nobody really cares about one individual's decision. U aren't being judged. It looks like an 80 year old argument with millions of people on each side. I don't own an M2 yet(waiting for CS) I have owned/driven FAST cars in both auto and manual at the track and on the street. Luckily BMW offers us an option for either...for now. It sure seems like people on this site with Auto's are real quick to get defensive!!! Is it an inferiority complex? Little "man" syndrome? I currently own both an auto and a manual. Wife drives the auto more than I. But it's my $226k and i dont have any time to "give two fucks".
your decision is cool with me! U earned that cash, spend it how u want

I hope to be proven wrong, but I doubt BMW will allow it to be better than the M4 GTS, so not really better than the 911 GT3.

I wouldn't pay $130k for an M2, no way.

This car is pretty rare with just over 3000 units for the entire production run in North America (not counting Mexico). Maybe worth something in the future, (though not necessarily, although being a BMW M car more likely yes)

Unless you are convinced you have a rock solid deal that's probably the way to go anyway, plus will save a lot of potential heartache

The M4 GTS didn't sell through immediately to customers, the 150 ZL9 models didn't and I don't expect an M4 CS or M2 CS to either..

Exactly. At the current pace there will be less than around 7500 sold across the entire US run, certainly under 10,000 including all versions

Then BMW will point to the low sales numbers to justify killing the car in favor of an x2 m sport.. for $39k.
