Curious if the performance parts were port installed like with any other m2 or if they leave the factory as is. Have you had your car up on a lift yet? Is the exhaust cut in half and bolted together like is it for everyone else or is it one full piece from the downpipe to the mufflers?

Who would want this? More money for these changes? This is not worth it.

No lift here, and crawling under a PE m2 on those coilovers is impossible. But the handy-dandy cellphone and a long arm allowed me to lay next to my passenger side door, mid-way down the length of the car and video what's down there.

Here is the most relevant screenshot.

I got one of them. I agree with a lot of the comments on this thread but in the end it is a lot more fun that my previous 2011 M3.

Are your wheels not all black? Or is it just the angle/lighting?

Question to owners of the Performance edition.

A local dealer has a regular M2 and a performance edition M2 that are available at MSRP. I was leaning towards the performance edition because I would likely do the exhaust for sure on my own but I am not certain about a few of the other "weight savings" deletes from standard and the suspension.

This car would be a daily driver for me. The roads where I live are reasonable. Anyone have experience with the M performance suspension and its use as a daily driver?

Also, to those who bought the performance edition, any experience about living with the loss of some of the standard features on a regular M2? Ie, keyless remote, heated seats, etc.

Thanks for the help

Its stiff...but definitely livable as a daily...obviously, YMMV if you want a comfortable couch to drive to work.

So technically, it does have keyless start....it just doesn't have comfort access (so you can just walk up to the car and unlock it without pulling the key out of your pocket). I've never had a car with Comfort Access so I wasn't missing much. The single zone AC is no big deal. The manual seats are pretty much the same...set and forget if you are the only driving the car. I did sort-of want the back-up camera and front/rear sensors but its really just a nice-to-have

Can't complain...wish I didn't pay the $2500 for the M Driver's Package (yet to receive my code/invite for the track day too) but whatever...the exhaust and suspension are worth it alone

I agree completely. The suspension is great for double duty but geared more for street.

The car is great! I see it as more pure, not loaded with tons of weight adding features. Would have loved it even more with the nav deleted. I love the suspension, firm but not race car stiff, also like that it has a lower stance.

Additional note, you can install the backup camera from bimmertech, and regain that option.

Agreed on the suspension, I'm more worried about clearance over driveways than stiffness on the streets. Also, the only downside to the single-zoned A/C is that you cannot set the timer to vent the car after you've left it parked in the sun at work. I quite enjoyed that feature on my 235i. But not a deal breaker by any means.

Clearance hasn't been an issue at my current ride height...going to need to get it corner balanced and aligned so that might bring down the ride height. But I haven't scrapped it once

The spring rates are higher so you'll feel a bit more road imperfections

But overall these dampers are really well damped and are just as comfortable. And I'm even running 1-2 clicks stiffer rebound with 2 clicks off the rear compression. Adds a bit more compliance in the rear and makes the car way more lively under power

Overall I think the PE is worth every penny if you want a factory car with warranty and more character. I think the single zone AC adds to the car

FYI - I just talked to a BMW Genius and he said the M Driver's Package cert/invite takes around 8 weeks from the in-service date - in case anyone was curious
