I'm heading back this coming Saturday if any of y'all live nearby and want to meet up for a drive!
Since we drive the same car I can't be jealous of your ride....but I sure am envious that you live in the best place to go driving in the USA!! I love how your posts say "headed back to the dragon" like you're grabbing some eggs and milk!! That has to be amazing living where you do. Enjoy and keep the pics coming!
Haha appreciate you saying that bro; I am very thankful to live in this area. Covid put me in a pretty bad reclusive funk, but even in the 2 short weeks of ownership this car has reenergized me to explore and enjoy the mountains. It's been a lifelong dream to own an M car, and the experience so far has been magical. As always, if you're ever in the area then hit me up and I'll show you all the good driving roads!

Why didn't bmw not make the 763 in a color like that. Gold is cool but too flashy and black is too murdered out. That looks perfect

Man that first shot is incredible. I cannot get over how beautiful and dynamic this color is (sitting here staring at my car as I type this). There is not a bad color choice for this car, but in 3 short weeks of ownership I have gotten so many compliments on my HS M2c.

I've owned the car for just over 2 years and not once has anyone complimented the car itself. It's always something along the lines of "whoa what color is that car?!"

Same here, owned the car for less than two months and the question is always "what color is that?!" Followed by "nice M3!" 😀

I love how different HS looks depending on the time of day/light conditions.

Picked up my new ride, gave her a wash and stopped by the Windy City BMW CCA burgers and bimmers event last weekend and took a few phone pics.

Yeah, if there's one thing that the S55 will always have over the S58, aside from low end torque (apparently), it's that SEXY carbon fiber strut brace. It is quite a sight in the flesh. Pair that with the MP carbon engine cover ($995) and the engine bay looks like jewelry. I don't have it yet, but people are always super impressed w the carbon strut brace when I pop the hood. Even my super nerdy aerospace friends.

Totally agree with the comment on the strut brace. I just go in the garage and pop the hood and stare at that thing!! It looks so amazing. It’s my favorite visual part.

It has no function though and just there for show off, especially for car shows. It does wow everyone.

Are you sure it has literally no function? I braced up the front end of my WRX and it turned the thing into a go cart. The M2 has always felt like it was built like a rock to me. Super solid construction with very little flex in the chassis. One of the first things I noticed.

"No function"

It has the same function as the ugly bed frame rails that BMW slapped into the G80/G82, only it looks a helluva lot better doing it, and weighs next to nothing.

I think you mean it has no function over an equivalent steel or aluminum brace.

Yeah, read that somewhere but can't find the source.
It was mainly put in there to show off when the hood was lifted, like in car shows and events for the wow factor.

Of course it does add some rigidity but not to the level of a hardcore steel/aluminum brace.

Having said that, they removed the wow factor in the G series probably for cost cutting reasons. Maybe it will come back in the CS models? Who knows.

Your source to back up this assertion? Or are you just making an assumption?
