Waiting at the german port for 2 weeks

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
My M2C has been stuck at the german port since April 4th (15 freaking days).

Is this within normal waiting time at the port or did bmw wreck it and is trying to fix/cover it up at the port?

Getting a bit worried about this long delay.

That's strange. Might be dependent on final destination or how the completion of the car falls in line with the outgoing ships schedule. My car sat at the port for 2-3 days before being loaded on the ship for California, USA.

It could depend on a variety of factors including weather, ship loads, ship routes (most likely culprit), etc.

Our F80 was at port (ED) for 1.5 weeks, another guy who ED and dropped around same time was at port for 2.5 weeks, another guy who was just a normal Priority 1 was a month and a half. The difference? Mine was going to California, second guy was going to North Carolina, third guy was going to Oklahoma. Our three ships did not have the same route to get to the appropriate port for delivery. So while mine got on the next SoCal port route, the second guy needed a ship that was going to SC, but the ships before were probably packed, and third guy needed Galveston, and those are less frequent and likely had a few sailings filled before his was allocated to be boarded.

Point is that it's a gambit and takes time.

Also, be aware that the status may not update for up to 3-6 days after it leaves port for security reasons.

mine has been at port for about 8 days now. Patiently waiting but hope it's not still sitting there too much longer.

Sometimes I think being able to track this whole process is just adding stress to the wait for the car.

Mine updated as being on a ship 6 days after the ship departed. It showed as in port for 13 days, but it was really 7.

I dropped mine off on April 1st. It will be on the Asteria Leader which was supposed to arrive at Bremerhaven on Thursday per its sailing schedule. I expect it will be listed as departing shortly.

Do you know what ship you'll be on?

Mine finally updated to "in transit" today.

Sales guy promptly followed up with an e-mail stating he shows it will be in US port on 4/30.
