Bmwcca chapter input?
Hey, everyone,
Are any of you active with a BMWCCA Chapter anywhere? I belong to 3 different chapter groups (I’m on the west coast), and they are all so different! Would be interested in hearing what people enjoy about any chapter, events, social, tech, etc… Thanks! David

I know my local chapter president the dude talked how he had an X3 4.0.
He kept saying it had a 4.0 V6. Well, glad to know I was considering joining a group lead by some serious car guys. So I didn't join lol |

The Carolinas CCA chapters are great. Tarheel Raleigh group does the HPDE at VIR 3 times per year and tons of drives. I've been to the Outer Banks with them. Charlotte is big enough, we have a south group dinner and a north group dinner. The south group is into mountain drives and helping each other do builds, the north group has a good many track rats. We had 6 at an HPDE last fall.
The Sandlapper chapter (Greenville region) is the location of the national group and has connections with the BMW Performance Center and Michelin for events. They also run an HPDE at Carolina Motorsports Park (where we did the HPDE last fall). I'm not familiar with the Columbia or Charleston region events but know a few folks from there. I also often attend the Oktoberfest events, well the east coast ones at least. Some are track focused and some are just social events. All have been great fun.

I am a member of the Puget Sound chapter. Have done multiple HPDE with them. Fun hitting 145 mph on the track in my M2 on the straight away.
Lots of social events, tours, and an M Car Day. All the dealers and most independent BMW shops give BMWCCA members discounts. |

I'm a member of the Sonora chapter in southern Arizona. Nice group of people and we do some fun driving events, as well as some other events that don't involve much driving and are of less interest to me.
A group up in Phoenix splintered off of the Roadrunner chapter there and started their own club, because they were dissatisfied with the club activities and/or officers. Some of them have shown up at our events and they're all super-nice people and seem to have assembled a tight-knit group. I've been a member since 2005 and have gotten 3 club rebates over the years, plus the club magazine, Roundel, is worth the price of membership almost on its own. It's been a worthwhile experience.

I used to run many of the driving schools and Auto X events for the Boston Chapter. 2000-2010.
You are lucky to be in a area where you can pick and choose which clubs events to attend. Boston Chapter is one of the 3 largest in the US. With that being the case the Chapter does several HPDE's, a wicked competitive Solo 2 series, and a ton of social and concourse events as well each year.

I forgot to mention the big CCA benefits, that some have mentioned.
Monthly Roundel magazine, a top quality publication. 15% BMW parts discount. New BMW purchase/lease rebates. $500-$1,000 that I've repeatedly gotten since joining.

I'm in the National Capital Chapter and Tarheel Chapter. Joined NCC when I bought my E46 and have done track days, DIY tech events, detailing workshops, and some social events with them. The DIY events are great as they are held at local shops and they are always people willing to assist in helping you with maintenance & repairs.
I added a Tarheel membership to get access to their VIR track events as they sell out really quickly. I also took advantage of the CCA rebate when I bought the M2C. |
