Either way, seems strange to turn an '18 into an $80k car when you have have new '19 M2C's arriving. I would think that is going to be a difficult car to sell.
The dealership orders them that way because the add-on parts are profit centers. They really don't want you to order your own car, they would much rather push something on you.

Garage List
2018 BMW M2  [0.00]
Also, dealers are required to have a certain percentage of their total purchases be in port-installed options. They tend to order a mix of plain-Jane and fully loaded.

Then why would ppl put upgraded wheels and suspension/exhaust on og m2?

Is everyone who bought a m2 only 'smart' if they have a base, no option?

Anybody who put extra money, tunes, roll cages, carb fibre parts on their og m2 just been a dummy the whole time and shouldve just bought a 911?

Maybe... there is a line somewhere though, would you not agree? What if you add 40k of parts.

Sorry but if you roll into an office filled with low / middle class non car people in a new 911 it is a much more austiacious appearance than rolling in in a white 2 series that most people can’t tell apart from a 235i who aren’t car people.

I would agree it is looks more expensive, but an M2 is not exactly a sleeper looking thing either. If they are that low income, a BMW is going to make you look like Mr. Fancy Pants anyway.

I understand where you're coming from but I think it's a bit ridiculous. I see 911s almost on a daily basis around here.

Anyway, this is getting OT. You guys are free to pay 40+% over sticker for an M2 if you want it that badly.

just curious as to how such a car came to be?

Did the dealer spec it out like that? Or did someone order it and backout? Or did the dealer just raid the parts department for everything they could possibly stick on it?

This. That`s exactly why i bought an M2.
All most people see is a white little car. My Ex 2011 640i looked like a 100k car in non car peoples eyes, when it is actually 50% less than M2.
