Rear seat space is good. Thus car would need to take the occasional friends to lunch or haul kids...full travel space for four is a larger car.

Love that M2 sedan render in this thread. That would make it hard to hang onto my e36...er, 332I (US spec M3).

One other refinement for rear seat space. Drivers ed participants would like to get their track tires in the back seat. Another reason I like 4 for cars.

A set of, say 18x8s with 245s (?) I'm not even sure what size wheels and tires the new m 235s run...

I like it overall; what I have issues with is the cabin space on the front seats; 2 series is the size of a toy, narrow and cramped inside, for the price, you can get much more usable everyday cars here in EU. Same with 1series.
Even the 3 series is huge outside and like VW Golf on the front seat; completely another story from the new Mercedes C class sedan.

Still have mine after 13 years. Don't want to part with it. If anything I'd like to teach my daughters how to drive MT with it....
Same colour as mine!! Although mine was pre lci.

If it was to be introduced in say a market like North America it would be xDrive and eDrive only. But Europe would probably feature the full engine range from the entry three cylinder up to the M Performance 300+ PS 4 Cylinder.

Why is this labeled a 2 series and on the F30 board?

German media clearly says this is a 1 series sedan concept, FWD like X1, currently China only.

But I must admit the real pics look nice, especially from the back, would imagine it would compete well here in europe especially against the ugly CLA and the A3, both are also FWD based.

But to compete against the CLA AMG it would need some M-Performance 360+ hp engine, 300 would just be too low for Bayerische Motoren Werke.

And one thing to consider by BMW, a small car with small engines will improve the overall fleet emissions, which means more room to introduce more powerful M models

I don't like fwd cars but ukl is best in class platform for those vehicles. Look at weight distribution for example

Not that that it looks bad but can't wait for a real version of this car again we know concepts rarely make in to production this would probably be no different in that aspect.

You need either an eye exam or sleep or a combination of both.

Those two cars look nothing alike.

I think he was referring to the tail lights as they do look a little similar in overall shape
Not even. You need eye glasses too !!

I think we all agree that the interior on this car is amazing. There is nothing complex or anything exotic about the materials used (leather and wood trim) and follows BMW designs for interiors so why can't they do something like this on production cars? Instead we get black/vinyl dashes that look boring.

I wish they'd bring the 1er RWD hatch... I wonder what this concept sedan would look like as a wagon.

Seriously that would be amazing, don't understand why not as the hatch market is very popular now in the states. Drove a 1 series hatch in Europe and it was amazing especially the standard cloth interior is much better for spirited driving and looks more sportier in trim compared to leather.

Once they remove the "make-up" it will eventually look like this. Minus some fractional changes.
Every inch a BMW.

Loving this compact sedan design, hopefully translates into a wagon/hatch down the road too.

That was not even a consistent review, it was pretty much a shopping list of hatred towards BMW. They completely overlooked the entire purpose of the Active Tourer. Which from a customer perspective equals 70% of total BMW 2er units globally a majority of which are new to the brand with the Active and Gran Tourer.

I think they were hating on the world where BMW is forced to make this vehicle.

A very true BMW! Classic but still sleek and modern, well done.

This is what the i3 should have looked like and then they would have sold like hot cakes!

No FWD for us, only xDrive!

Oh, it seems pretty similar to the 2 series minivan and i3 nonsense - the funny thing is that this car could be awesome. But they're going to make it FWD and whatever else...

And like I asked a few pages back, why is this on the F30 page ???
