If you’re looking for a manual, expect a smaller selection and higher prices. I bought my 2017 6MT last June with 10k miles and paid $43,500, which was a pretty solid deal at the time. A similar car is probably a good bargain at about $40k now. If you’re looking DCT I think you could find one for $37-38k. The LCI has a few nice upgrades (most notably the LED taillights for me,) but it tends to sell at such a premium to the non LCI I had a hard time justifying it. A 2018 was easily $5k more routinely when I looked. Someone incorrectly stated the LCI has upgrades like CarPlay, backup camera, etc., but those were all part of the tech package in the OG and most cars have it as it was only like $2k to add it. I personally prefer the OG interior myself.

There really haven’t been any consistent mechanical issues with these cars. Maybe the charge pipe blowing, but I honestly think that is overblown if you’re running stock power and it’s a cheap fix anyway. If you want to add power you’ll need to upgrade cooling as it’s pretty much maxed out in that regard, being the most built version of this motor. Exterior wise there are some reports of water getting into the taillights, which was covered under warranty but may be a problem if you’re out of warranty.

Well guys I picked it up yesterday and I've got to say I'm in love with it. Ride is perfect for the car in my opinion the balance between our right performance and comfort is spot on.

Just done a bit of coding to remove ASD and turn other bits and bobs on so looking forward to going out in it again.

The car was in excellent condition and I couldn't see anything that was a cause for concern!

Thanks for all your input

Congrats! I've had mine for a year and daily drive it in Minnesota. I couldn't agree more with your comments. It's such a perfect balance.

Super reliable so far except one thing...as a recent victim to the charge pipe explosion, I recommend you do this proactively. My car is a 2016, 24,000 miles, no mods, no tracking, DCT.

Looks great. Get those grills blacked out and you have one heck of a stunner.

Cheers guys.

Yeah the grills are next on the list. Is the best way to just pick up a black set from a 2series?

I will think about the charge pipe too I had a good look at it and it looks ok but I'll keep an eye out for one

I normally love the black out look, but on my BSM I actually really like the chrome contrast of the grills...I also decided not to tint the windows. Was worried the shade of black tint wouldn't match the BSM

Yup - i would recommend to get the OEM 2 series black grills and then swap over your M2 inner slats.
I made the mistake of going cheap and buying some black grills off ebay - I wasn't able to swap over the M2 inner slats as the fit of the clips was slightly different. The finish wasn't good either. Definitely get wha you pay for!

I guess you could always buy the full M2 black grills and slats but think you would be playing at least $100 USD more than doing your own swap on the OEM 2 series black grill.

Garage List
2018 BMW M2  [0.00]
I got mine for $43k private sale with kw V3's and ground control camber plates and new tires (two weeks ago).

Bought it in Seattle and drove it to Denver. I felt like I got a pretty good deal (mineral Gray, executive package).

Depending on election/covid/season - you can probably find one in the winter in a northern state for a better price once winter hits.

Be patient, but if you're find one that checks all your boxes - grab it - because someone else will and you will .. "regret not pulling the trigger on a black shadow edition right away."

Ask me how I know. Ha!

EDIT: Congrats - just saw you got it

I presume things will regress toward their appropriate pricing levels in the next few months, but the market still seems a little out of whack. Used M2Cs are going for new (or higher) prices.
What do you think I can get for a 2019 M2C 6speed Exc with only 7000 miles on it? Dealer offered me a buy price of 47K today.

Located in Oregon.

There's a 6K DCT listed for $54K in the classifieds forum

You should spend $5 throw it up on Craigslist for $2-3K more than you think you'd take and wait for someone to negotiate you down to your target price. Presuming you have service records and are a fair margin under dealer prices you'll get a bite, I was looking up and down the west coast for my OG M2 before I bought it and I doubt I was alone.

Edit: There was an M2C 6MT that went for below $50K but above what they could get from the dealer so I'd consider that a realistic range.

I slapped it up on Facebook marketplace for $53k and it was crickets besides a few jokers. The dealers must think it's worth that or they wouldn't be offering $47k.

It's got a lot of xpel PPF installed since new.
