54 & these are what's currently in my garage...I've toned it down a lot from what I used to have as I've gotten older . I just recently sold the A45 & my daughter has a new i30-N on order, my issue is my garage space not my age.

Thank you, Tab & Dan. I didn’t know about the garage feature on this site.
I have taken delivery of same spec: HS, dct. Two days of ownership and the car is addictive to drive. It’s the perfect balance of power, torque, driver engagement, and practicality.

I bought mine 4 months prior to my 70th. It's been six months now. BSM w/ DCT. Sat on the showroom floor a while due to combination of the color and DCT I was told. They wanted rid of it so price was good and because I have good credit financing was 0.9%. Can't beat nearly free money. :-) My first truly high performance car.

Spent a week in the NC hills southwest of Asheville and west of Hendersonville in October. Drove as hard as mama would tolerate. :-) What fun. I drive it within my abilities. DSC is never turned off though I do use MDM on occasion. Youtube is full of videos of folks losing control and crashing performance cars, including many BMW's. I don't intend to join that fraternity. When covid is over I'm going to M school. This is my keep until I die or shouldn't be driving car.

I second that. And for those on the fence regarding an M School given its cost, join the BMW CCA and look for a "club" M school. Its the same 1 day event but with half the cost and somewhat less track time, albeit still plenty of seat time. You also don't get any extras other than a small goody bag and discount to the gift shop. I know they're offered in SC 2-3 times a year between the chapters.

It's great at everything, except that it's kind of a big boring family sedan. This is definitely a first world problem, but now that the Tesla tech amazingness has worn off, I just drive it around like a minivan. Whenever I hear Elon Musk talk about the next advance in self driving, rather than being appropriately excited, I think.. oh great, so we will make driving even more boring.

I test drove a M2C about a year ago and my reaction was.. "it's alive!" I loved it. But at "my age" I'm debating if an M3/M4 is more appropriate. Or even a 911, although I'm loathe to spend that kind of money on a car. Is the M2C more of a car for 20 year olds or 30 year olds? This sounds like a stupid question in my head even as I type it. But it's a thing. You know, I shouldn't be wearing skinny jeans at some point either (not that they fit me, but you know what I mean).
You definitely want it.

I also hesitated to move from my 228i because I didn't need anything more. But man, you drove it. The liveliness of the M2C is something else. Buying the M2C was one of those decisions that made my life better. Always looking forward to the next drive.

In my case I'm single, so I don't have the family question. The car is quite practical though, and if you need something bigger, maybe you can go for the new M4C with the big grill if you're adamant about getting a coupe. The M3C looks very similar though. I would test drive those two TBH. And I would take the fam to the test drive.

I'm 29 and I just got my first M car, M2C! I don't think age is an issue for bmw fun boys. I saw some many people, around 40-60, drive highly modified e46 m3 race car at track. They feel and look so young, so much energy and passion.

My good friend Ray Korman tells the story of BMWNA's introduction of the F8x M3 at Road America in 2014. BMW had asked Ray to come since his E30 M3 race car was going to be there (E30 M3 S/N #1), and they wanted him to give people hot laps on the track, etc.

He would load the next person in the queue and leave the pits WOT through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and as they're gaining serious speed down the main straight, with turn one rapidly growing in size ahead, point out that the "M3 is 27 years old so hopefully it's still in good shape" (using voice intonation to good effect), and then just as they're entering the braking zone from triple digit speeds and he's holding out for the deepest marker, he would casually yell out that of course he is now 80, so hopefully he's in good enough shape!

Last year at O'fest here in Greenville he drove his old Firehawk series winning E30 325e in demonstration on the Performance Center track and didn't hold back a bit then either.

Age is all in your mind (and in your joints as I can attest nearing in on 62).

Never too old to have fun! Never let social pressure influence what you're passionate about!

Turned 43 and just picked up my m2 and driven 60 miles so far. It’s the quietest, most comfortable, and composed car I’ve owned. Though they were a WRX and an s2000. But having said that, it’s up there close enough to make do difference in comfort to my moms c250.

This one? I am amazed at the folks at the events enjoying their cars regardless of age. Many who are better drivers than I'll ever be.

I am 48 and took delivery of mine in October. I was hoping for ED, but things did not work out in our favor. With that being said, M2 is a fantastic car and recommended for any age.

Yeah, I test drove the M2C again (this time with DCT) and the car is a blast. It's quite a change for me though going from a Tesla Model S that is smooth and really big. I mean, really big. Like a boat that goes really fast in a straight line.

The M3 is definitely something I'm considering, despite the grill. Or maybe the M340i. But the M2C is always in the back of my mind... how much do I really need that back seat for the family...
