well, imho it is not too much harder than the oe setup. but it it more precise and the feedback ist much better and more detailled. you really feel every little stone you drive over. but not in a negative way... just in a way it gives you the feedback what is going on below the wheels that you do not get with the oe coilovers. particularly impressive is the highspeed damping when driving over a manhole cover or something similar. it feels perfectly planted without being shaked too much.
so i would not say the kw cs3 is "comfortable", but it fits the car really well and if you mostly drive in a spirited way it is a perfect upgrade. if you just do a lot of miles in traffic it may be not the perfect hardware. |

Yes, I'd also like to hear more about this! Is it a 2-way diff? I went to Drexler's website and it doesn't look like they offer anything past e46 and e90 diffs. Are the housings the same or did you have to change that?

these units are based on the m4 gt4 factory racecar diff that also comes with a drexler lsd core. i change the setup for longer rebuild intervals and less aggressive reaction. so my unit is 100% usable in everyday street driving without any noticeable compromise in performance. it always depends on how the car is being used and what you expect from your lsd. when i have some information from the customer i can suggest (and build) an individual setup that fits the specific needs (and fits into the budget). i am doing this business (setting up and installing custom lsd cores for street and racecars) since quite a while and did over 1.000 units so far. so in this m2 lsd i put pretty much of my knowledge and research i did so far. if you want to know more about setting up a lsd and what lsd brands are available you can read my "lsd shootout" thread in the m3 forum. i tested some different brands and setups in my two m3 e92 and my m3 e46: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=788992 |
