Like you said, evidence. As far as I know, there are 4+ people were having stock hpfp crashing issue, mine(2018 model) even crashed on stock tune but not enough to impact drivability. Better keep logging time to time if software is available. It's just luck. If tuning is a must, STG1 HPFP is worth the money to secure major engine issue and keep troubles away, also has the ability to run E85 to get 430ish whp with stock turbo or 480ish whp for stage 1.5 turbo safely in the future without upgrading other components. |

At this point vastly more people have had one of their rear springs crack than have had an issue from the fuel pump crashing. But I'll ask Protuning Freaks and post their response here. |

People are lazy and flash a new OTS tune, never datalog, and then when it doesn’t leave them on the side of the road proclaim the tunes are set it and forget it.
It’s not news that the BM3 tunes are aggressive. Emailing PTF about this is a waste of your time and theirs homie. |

I don't consider people who don't log "lazy", and I don't consider it a waste of anyone's time to ask the tuner how safe their tune is point blank. This will be my last response to you, as you are now on ignore because of your terrible attitude. |

While a BM3 and MHD are a good one size fits all, there are always outliers.

Far as I've seen MHD you can run 98 map with 98 RON and it's still slightly conservative whereas widetyres proved with his Dyno runs that you should run 95 map with 98 RON on BM3 stg2 to actually make more, safer power.

I'm just sharing what I experienced. When I start tuning my car, I did a good amount of research. Quality parts, tuned conservatively. When I flashed my car, I literally just unlocked my ECU and start logging stock tune, hpfp dropped but still ok. then stage 1 91oct.
where hpfp fail dramatically. I'm just kindly remind all M2 tuners or N55 tuners, pay a little attention on hardware like HPFP, it won't hurt. When engine running lean, super knock happens. I had super knock once, luckily nothing major damage to intervals. BMW engines love Oct, and BM3 is aggressive compare to other tuning software. Can't take granted for your local gas quality, hardware health. It can lead to serious damage to your car. And the only effort you need to do is, open the app, find a straight road, 40mph-100mph WOT. Open the graph and check, my 9 years old son know how to read act/target hpfp pressure after 5min explaination. Hope everything is running perfect for everyone, Enjoy~ |

I’ll be going to the custom Bend Cal tune post install and definitely ahead of the dyno. I am curious what a before and after looks like though so I’d like to get a run in with the Bend/Pure500/HPFP on 93 to compare to the “before” run on BM3 S291 running 93.
This exercise is first and foremost for reliability and peace of mind on track. The power benefits are a kick ass secondary benefit. All hail E85. |

I’ve been loving my current stock turbo setup on full e85 but the turbo running out of steam up top is pissing me off lol. I also hate the PS2 lag so I’m really hoping the Pure500 is the move

S2 91 running Shell 93 05/2023
https://bootmod3.net/log?id=641d066bd10b4341f2c996cb S2 93 running 93 and maybe some 95 octane from a local Chevron? 10/2021 https://bootmod3.net/log?id=6178a49bae729b38d5eedf9f Problem with my all these old logs is I can’t remember the details like ambient temp and fuel details. I definitely saw cleaner timing when temps dropped enough to keep IATs lower but even with that and what was allegedly 95 octane Chevron fuel I was still seeing corrections. Active Auto cat dp, CSF for both. NGK plugs but have recently moved back to OEM with the M logo. Haven’t logged since that plug swap but need to. I’ll be on track all weekend so I may try and grab a log on a late Sunday session. Last edited by ThreeStripes; 09-21-2023 at 09:24 PM.. |

MHD has a new OTS full e85 map for cars equipped with upgraded hpfp’s. They said these maps have more torque/power through the midrange. Would be very curious what it dyno’s if anyone with MHD/uograded hpfp wants to try it out or do some pulls/run some logs

Although I do wonder that HPFP map with (upgraded HPFP) and a pure 500 turbo might be nice? |
