I just completed the initial install of the rear B16 setup on my m2c...the rear height surprised me, though I need to let it settle a bit.
at 60mm on the adjuster as described in the instructions, I resulted in a 0.5" LIFT on the rear...from 24 1/8 up to 24 5/8...(612mm to 625.5mm or so). This is of course too high...you can feel the rebound not being happy. I'll look to lower it, planning to settle around 24-23 7/8" (610mm-605mm). i would love to lower it by 1" (25mm) like the instructions and marketing material suggest, but I have some pretty nearly speed bumps in the area, 4 of which i have to cross each day...twice...up hill in the snow.... More technically, is there a Bilstein recommended or optimal static length to the shock which we are shooting for? on the front, anyone care to share their adjuster location....turns, height, etc as a baseline to start? When I measure as described in the instructions, 170-190mm....my lowest setting is over 230mm....i must be measuring from the wrong place, but if so, what is right? "related to spring seat till centre of strut fixation bolt"...is that to mean the little guide pin/bolt on the shock body which locates the rotation in the hub? ~Ryan |

Most from what I gather here measures from the bottom of the wheel (no tire) to the top of the wheel arch. Measure before….after.
As per recommendation, I’m at 6F/4R. I seriously I’m ashamed to say, can’t tell between the stock and the Bilstein. I wish I could. Numb. |

So finished my install today, for reference to others, here is my heights.
stock: Front measured 24" 1/2" from lower of rim to fender. Rear measured 24" 1/8" from the lower of the rim to the fender. Final: Front is 16 turns up from lowest possible position on the collar, measures 23" 7/8" from lower of rim to fender. This is a 5/8" drop...approx 16mm drop. Rear is 10 turns from lowest possible position on the collar, measures 23" 13/16" from lower of rim to fender. This is a 5/16" drop...approx 8mm drop. Any lower and I scrape on my driveway. Still need to make the drive into work and see if I scrap there or not. Initial impressions with all adjustments at 1 (softest) is that the harshness over the smallest imperfections in the road is drastically less, and over largest ones it seems a bit bouncy with a bit too much rebound for me. I will start tightening it up likely to 3F2R and see how that goes. ~Ryan |
