Wireless charger retrofit
Hi all,
Boredom during this lockdown is meaning that I am tinkering with my M2c probably more than I should be! After getting CarPlay, my phone battery is being drained and I want to fit a wireless charger. I’m not convinced about the oem Version where I think you need to clip the phone in the glove box. I read a really good write-up about fitting a wireless charger to the front console, in front of the cupholders. Thank you! https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1605242 I’m not brave enough to do this! I might have a simpler solution although possibly not as good... Has anyone tried removing the transmitter coils from a wireless charger and fitting them under the rubber mat In the glove box? There are holes under this mat and I assume you could Wire this up to the underside of the USB port. I don’t know if the USB port can easily be pulled up to access the underside and even if it could, how I would splice in a USB cable? I have bought the following charger which I am hoping I can remove the coils from. I think it would be possible to insert these coils under the rubber mat so that aesthetically it would look like there was no modifications made. The trouble is I’m not sure how to access the panel underneath the USB port and also how I could splice a USB power supply into this area. If anyone can help I will post a guide to what I did in due course. Many thanks. |
