I also enjoy off throttle rotation after turn in. That’s a lot of fun for sure. But I also enjoy the planted feeling with the staggered set up at the apex when I start applying throttle and the weight transfers to the rear, and then being able to roll onto full power by the exit without fighting the squiggles.
I think this is very subjective and we all have our preference. To me the car feels perfect with a staggered setup. The tracks I run these days have no runoff room so I like it hooked up in the rear. Nordschleife is super tight. Also thanks for the note about RE 71s as dailies. That will be my setup next year in 245/265. |

I will be doing what you mentioned in your initial post. 255/275-35 4Ss on OEM wheels for all-around track / rainy weekend wet driving / street. More then likely, 255/285-35 RE-71s on another set of wheels for max performance on the track in the dry. I have been running 255/285-35s for over two years now and love the setup, still getting faster too! I do rotate them insides out once per set as well, at about 40-50% wear. You would find the RE-71s in 255/285 have more grip than Cup 2s, they are great in the wet as well.

Definitely the truth! Very noticeable when stiffening up the MP coilovers, don't seem the feel as greasy. Although, you are burning through the tire faster. Better all-around tire wear as well.
