2021 Toyota Supra Dyno 388whp

CarAndDriver dyno’d the new 2021 Supra. 388whp. Very underrated again.

Is it going to be faster than the M2C in a straight line or around a track? I think it’s possible, especially due to being 200 lbs lighter.

I think so. If you don't need the back seat and can get over the looks, this will be a quick little car. But no manual is a deal breaker for me.

Lol this is hilarious.

BMW makes probably one of the best handling M-ca.....errrr sports car....then hands it to Toyota.

And over here at home base we get the watered down stuff lol.

No question now this thing will dance around the new favorite M car.

That would put this car at a BHP of about 455 hp if so!

supposedly stock M2C is putting down about 415-420 whp so we're looking at over 500BHP. Unsure who is faster at this point since the Supra is lighter. However a lot of what makes the M2C "slow" is the fact that it spins the rear wheels too easily and cant really put down the power like you would want in a proper drag race.

If this is the same engine / software in the M340i, then this car will be faster than the M2C for sure. The Supra seemed to put the power down a little more easily also as xxyion mentioned.

One beauty about owning a manual is that I never have to worry about 0-60 times pissing contests about "faster" cars. Because I know my off the line manual skills aren't drag racing good and even if it was the DCT or any auto is faster, and that's fine by me. I get a smile on my face every time I drive, whether to work, in the canyons, or on the track bc I am in control of my transmission and mechanically needed to shift. That's all that matters to me. Same smile cannot be achieved with the Supra.

Drive train losses are a fixed amount per car not a percentage that can be applied to all cars.

I wish BMW could service this car. Just can't justify paying this much to receive Toyota level service and techs that work on eco boxes like Yaris' and Corollas.

Trained on the technical level maybe but not the same standard of care or treatment you'll find at BMW, MB, or Audi. Or even Lexus for the matter.

Walk into a Toyota dealership and walk into a BMW one and see the difference

You don't have to. The S55 in the M2C makes a crap ton more power than 388 whp.

Again, you will walk these cars in a straight line.

Not a real sports car though, no manual gearbox.

Lamers. At least they could have given the option.
