Which M2 Performance parts are a must have?
I have an M2 comp on order, LBB, 6mt, executive package. While I'm waiting, I have the option of adding M performance parts. I'm 100% on the spoiler and for $750 it's worth it. The M performance exhaust at over $6000 I may have to pass on, maybe a better non OEM option out for less.
What M performance parts do you think are a must have? Any regrets on parts you got that you think are not worth it? Or parts that you didn't get and you wish you had? I'm in the US. Last edited by photorph; 01-27-2021 at 11:25 PM.. |

Congrats on the order!
For parts, l'd say all the carbon bits and dress up parts are worth the splurge. I've found that there's a very limited market for aftermarket aero compared to other platforms. Also taking into consideration that 2021 is the last of this generation so parts might be harder to come by as manufacturers start to phase out and discontinue parts for the platform. I mean it's not a big deal if you're ok with replicas but even then there's only a handful of different styles you can choose from. All the mechanical bits appear to be alive and well, plus we share parts with the F8x M3/M4 and those guys have a stronger aftermarket. Things like the MPE and suspension will be up to personal preference but if it were my money I would hold off on those from M division and look to the aftermarket. |

Man, there's too many to choose from for the M2! for us in Australia we don't get the "port installed" options, so we have the leisure of keeping our original parts and slowly picking at the parts we want.
For me, the first part I added was the genuine carbon rear spoiler (Same as you), the interior is where you spend a lot of the time whilst driving so I opted for a lot of the interior pieces - Foot Pedals - Steering Wheel - Carbon trim pieces Most likely going to add some others at some point and it's more fun if you do it little by little

Front lip for sure, makes the car look more aggressive.

Heated Steering wheel is a redundant option for majority of the year here, it gets blistering hot to a point where a cooled steering wheel wouldn't be a bad idea

I think I'm gonna do rear diffuser and spoiler, but skip out on the front part because it lowers ground clearance. I have some steep driveways to go up and it's my daily.

Been looking at designs that don't lower the corners, as that's where most contact seems to happen.

Do you have a part number for this? It wasn't on the list my dealer sent me. 100% sure it fits with the comp?

https://ind-distribution.com/collections/m2-competition-f87/products/bmw-f87-m2-cs-carbon-trunk-spoiler P/N: 51628085400 The trunks are the same across all 2 series cars (EXCEPT the convertible) so this spoiler will fit. It won't show up on the order list because it's *supposed* to be a CS exclusive (as opposed to CS specific). However, it does fit. |
