Buying 2021 M2 Comp this week
Hey everyone,
I'm planning on buying one of two 2021 models in my area this week. The dealerships selling them are not BMW. I have a PPI scheduled with BMW this week. Does anyone have any experience getting a PPI from BMW service? I could take it to a 3rd party tuner type of shop that has experience with German sports cars as well. I figured I could have BMW confirm warranty is still valid and nothing was done prior to the vehicle to void it, such as a tune, etc. Hopefully they can check for body work as well for me.. Also, please share any tips or any specific things I should look for during my extended test drive with the car. Thanks! |

Sorry I never gotten a PPI done. Just make sure the dealer does a through job as many can just look over things. Good luck on the purchase.
Post up some pictures if you purchase the vehicle!

Get the dealer to do whatever deep-dive they can, and get it in writing from them that there are no signs in the software that it was ever tuned or modified. If it is a manual transmission, they can also pull data to ensure it was never over-revved. Learn how to look for and spot a flood car (one that has been submerged); perhaps dealer will look for this, ask them about it. Make sure it got the break in service.

I had the exact same concerns as you when I purchased a 2021 and had a PPI done at my local BMW dealer (Ontario in Southern California). It was $337 out the door. Totally worth it for them to confirm the warranty was in good standing and everything checked out. Even if they miss something and you have issues down the road, you have documentation that they “blessed” the condition and warranty of the car already.
The only thing they discovered with my PPI was that the previous owner had purchased the 4 year service package which transfers to the next owner, so a definite win. |

Interesting that the service package was transferrable for u. Previous owner for my vehicle bought the ultimate maintenance pack, and they told me it's not transferable, bummer. They specifically pointed at the Ultimate Pack as the source of reason why... weird.. Maybe I'll give another dealership a call and get a 2nd opinion. |

Congrats on the purchase!
Now that you own the car, you can add it to your “My BMW” account and view all the warranty information, configure ConnectedDrive, and even buy more warranty and service coverage. I attached an image of what mine is showing. It’s called “BMW Ultimate Care+”. |

I will say that "clean" 21 comps in manual with low mileage go real fast. And all have gone for asking.. at least the several I've had interest in and was looking to potentially to purchase thru the past few months. Within a few days of listing, someone usually puts a down payment on them.
