Share your BMW M2 questions for the Brussels Auto Salon!
The 12th of January will be the day I am at the Brussels Auto Salon to see my new car. I received my press pass and I will have tons of time with the new car. Together with a friend of mine who works for BMW Belgium, we are going to get you all the answers for questions you might have right now.
I will of course have a look at the complete show, but most of the time I will be in the M2 making photos (and/or videos) and find answers to my, but also your questions. Please let me know below what you would like to find out and I will make a list, which I will take along. My intention is to go through the iDrive system on video and see what options are visible. I want to see the GoPro app thing work, and see what options you can change in the iDrive for the SPORT mode. Also I want to give you some decent photos of the interior and under the hood. Other than that please let me know what you would like to know and I will try to ask it or provide content about it. MR Edit: add final list of questions. List includes the following questions so far: Member: zkeeper Could the dash screen be split, with oil and water temp always showing, ie, on screen right--such as time and weather can be done on the new X3's now??? Member: chmura Please ask if there is some sort of digital oil temperature guage. Member: Makman Will the M2 feature active sound? After all they skipped the sound-insulation-materials? Can you take a deeper look at the M-laptimer app? Member: MR What settings can you change in the iDrive for Sport mode? How do you disengage rev matching in the manual version? How does the Go Pro app work and does it work with Android? Closer look at BMW M Performance parts if they are around Closer look under the bonnet Closer look inside the interior Last edited by MR.; 12-23-2015 at 05:16 AM.. |

Some of my questions:
- is the M2 going to be a standard model in the ///M line-up as the M3/M4? - when will the M Performance Exhaust be available? will it possible to have without carbon fibre shielding? - do the M3/M4 wheel fit on the M2? - what are the main engine differences between the M235i and the M2? |

Will there be a cut-out button for exhaust to "by pass" the muffler at rear center of car? Have "heard" this...just curious. Thanks for taking this all on for us...enjoy the time with the M2. |

Also... How much weight was lost with removal of sound dampening material? What is the weight of the car? How do the exhaust valves function and which pipes are active when valve is closed? Does the M-Performance exhaust work the same way? |

The dispositive questions are 'can I get one of the friggin things, and when' and 'what's the price of admission.' I'm happy to sweat the small stuff later. And it may well be no one will know the answers for those of us in the New World until the BMW NA guys show their mugs at the Detroit hoo ha in January... and if they do know, whether they will actually give us the straight Jesus remains an open question. Whatever pictorial auto porn teasers you guys can supply from Belgium, I will of course be more than happy and appreciative to partake. |

99% of these questions are either answered already in the press release or can be answered right now by anybody with a single brain cell.
You'll be lucky to have full functionality on the car when it will likely be in "motor show mode" with a lot of the systems switched off. And the people on the stand won't have the foggiest idea what any of these questions mean anyway. But anyway, good luck with it. |

No one will tell you that as they need to sell this model first.

I am curious to know if the turbo is the same one in the 235...or what about the turbo set up overall is different in the M2.
