How are the roads where you live? Here in Spain I think its more than capable. I took my family on a roadtrip today to clock up a few hundred KM ( happy sitting in the back, more than enough room) and they were impressed with the ride. Its very comfortable. However, back in the UK our roads are plagued with potholes and I'm not sure how it'd handle those. On relatively smooth roads its very comfortable and stable. I can imagine eating up long journeys no problem. |

Thanks for the post Cam! Congrats on picking it up early Can't wait for some pictures
You say the sound isn't amazing - can you speak to this? Would the "average" person think it sounds nice? Or does it sound like a standard sound system? Did the dealer say anything about taking the car for a spin?? Also, what do you think about the gloss-less carbon fiber trim? Thanks! |

What color did you choose? Can you confirm the following: 1. Is the battery std. or lithium variant. 2. Are the exhaust tips pull off type / welded / retainer screw. Enjoy👍 |

Roads here in Louisiana are bad just like the UK so will give me a comparable idea to what my M2 will ride like when i move back. Thanks again👍 |

I am almost 100% sure that it won't have a lithium battery. The electrical mods plus the cost of the battery would be substantial. It is clear that BMW has made some compromises in building the M2 to keep the costs down. I would be shocked if they adapted the electrical system and added the lithium battery. Also that information would have been included in the technical guide that highlighted all of the changes between the M2 and M235i.

My dealer doesn't care about April 16th.
Working at the mo, here it is in the carpark View post on imgur.com - Battery is regular - Exhaust sounds great, sorry maybe i wasn't clear. Its good enough that I'm not going to buy the M-perf. replacement. - I took a deep breath when I saw the odometer on pickup and then just let it go. Nothing I can do and they're being pretty cool giving me the car this early, so f it |

Congrats.
What did you and the family think of the road noise on longer trips? Did it make a difference turning off sport mode so the exhaust isn't as loud? A couple reviews have called it loud in the cabin. |

Comfort absolutely makes it quieter. Whether this is valves or just the way it revs I'm not totally sure. Its not as quiet as something on large profile tyres with a load of insulation, but it really wasn't bad at all. We could talk easily. I was amazed how much room there was in the back. I had an integra type R that would just drone through trips like that on the motorway, this was really quiet sitting in 7th gear. Bit of road noise because of the low profile rubber but nothing terrible unless you're coming from an S class or something similar.

I'll play with settings later today and let you know. I would say it sounded very standard. I didn't even say anything to the dealer to be honest. I felt like it was bound to happen with it being such an early car and managed my expectations. The car was otherwise mint and I'm seeing it as the price of getting it a few weeks early. Personally i think the matt effect carbon is really nice and subtle. For me, regular carbon gets thrown around all over things to make them look "trick" but its often a shitty plastic film, so I rarely get excited by it unless its something like a Zonda with a bare carbon tub. |
