M2 CS Racing Splitter - Install hardware

Hey guys, looking at picking up the M2 CS Racing Splitter 51628328240 (plastic)

I found a hardware parts list but not the quantities.

Fastening elements - 51118083744
Fillister head screw with collar - 41008436007
Hex bolt - 07119908547
Hex bolt - 07149213164

Anyone install one of these that can help with quantities
& DIY tips?

Thanks

The CS Racing splitter has additional screw holes (all the front most screws with 8mm heads and washers) that the competition bumper doesn't have, so you'll want to add clips (51717065773) for those. You'll either want to cut slots in the bottom of the bumper to slide those clips onto, or see if the lower front bumper mount piece (51118054310) can be modified for the clips and the screws long enough to reach it.

Just had one installed a few days ago, and even with the mounting brackets, parts of the bumper near the brackets will still have to be cut. Was a little hesitant about cutting a bumper, but figured I could always get another bumper. If the bumper is not cut, there will be a good one inch gap between the bottom of the bumper and the splitter.

Alternatively you can install rivnuts on the bumper where the front 8mm head screws are supposed to go. You might have to use different screws than the 8mm head ones, but it's easier than cutting the bumper and sliding a clip on there IMO. The bumper is 3mm thick, and should be fine considering all the other mounts for the splitter.

Great idea!
You could also use a backing plate inside the bumper which would add strength & stiffness.

This is exactly what I did for my own splitter install. Cost for the plate was less than $2 and 10min or so trimming with a box knife.

Do you know why fastening elements are different between CS Racing Splitter and CS one?
On CS Racing diagrams center supports are bolted to the bumper while CS diagrams show rivets instead, also CS Racing diagram, you can watch it on APMMotorsport, doesn’t show left and right bracket as part of the fastening elements.

Racing and CS spoiler are exactly the same.

I know, but hardware it's different on diagrams, at least part of it and I don't know why.

I've got a CS and looking to swap my carbon fiber splitter for the plastic racing one. What will I need in terms of tools in order to do this? Do you need a lift?

The splitter is very easy to remove. A lift would be nice, but.... My garage floor is a little higher then my driveway. I was able to hang the lip over the edge and it was enough space to remove everything. The little plastic rivets are the most annoying part. A small fork works fine. I'd get a tool for it and order a handful of extras just to have on hand. One of those cordless 3/8 ratchets would make this super easy.

From the link above

2 x #6
2 x #5
4 x #8

I thought it was roughly 8 #7s. I didn't remember there being two sizes of these.
