Issues with my M2C Manual! Please Help.
Hi everyone!
Wonder if someone can help. Recently picked up an M2C Manual and having some trouble. A little background, then. Test drive went without a hitch, but after a 2 hour journey home and a good amount of heat through the drivetrain, the issues commenced! When setting off slowly, there’s a pronounced creaking sound coming from along the centre of the car. When letting up the clutch, there’s a creaking sound similar to that you’d get from a bicycle with issues with the bearings in the crank. As the you’re is applied, and the engine goes under-load it’s quite pronounced. Then when pulling through gears, there’s a short but noticeable whirring sound. Lasts about two seconds mid pull then disappears. Have videos but can’t seem to post them on here. Had a BMW technician sit in the car and they said it’s abnormal for sure. I’ve also had a few M cars, so I’m familiar with the rawness of these cars and I’m sure I’m not being a hypochondriac🤣. Sent it back to the dealer but they’re struggling to find the source. Wondering if anyone has come across this? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone. |

Doesn't sound too good. At least bmw are onto it for you.
You need a few posts before you can post video etc. Go comment on a few random threads.. |

How many miles and can they check the DME to see if it was tuned previously? Sound disappears when clutch depressed? How much metal is in the gear box and differential fluid? Does pushing on the gear change lever alter the sound? There are sooo many possibilities but sounds like the dealer is on the hunt for you.

Hi guys. Thanks so much for your reply, even though my description may have beeen vague🤣. Unfortunately, I’ve decided to hand the car back. Dealer did some digging and after a week hadn’t come up with anything. I had a look online and found a recall for issues relating to the driveshaft; I didn’t want to enter into a 4 year agreement with a car that had caused issues from day one. Found another car that I should be collecting this weekend. Thanks again!!
