Awesome thread! I've been in contact with Long Beach BMW and they have a AW DCT coming soon supposedly. First person to see it at the dealership gets dibs, but they will only lease it.

BMW Weatherford in Berkeley CA has a white 6spd Mt M2 up for grabs. If your curious on why they still have it they are selling it at "market value" meaning $10k markup lol. I told him good luck no one's going to pay that markup anymore and why it's been sitting for a fee weeks already

Spoke to a CA and apparently the car arrived at the dealership yesterday. The bright side of the ridiculous markup is that the car will be there long enough for me to go see it next weekend, will be my first time seeing an M2 in the flesh (I'm on the waitlist at Hansel, MSRP MG 6MT )

Did they say why they will only lease it? That's the first time I've heard that one.... Better double check that marked-up money factor and fees, in addition to the horrible residual value!

Haven't seen one in person either and will check this one out on Sunday. Pretty excited hopefully I'll get lucky this summer and snag an allocation.

I was texting with these guys yesterday and I told them I'd be a buyer at MSRP but don't bother calling me otherwise. Strange I haven't heard back....

Seattle BMW update: HEA car is LBB, DCT, Exec plus black grills and gills. Listed at $63,645.
I'm thinking about going down to check it out but I'm not in the market.

They only said they wanted to get it back after the lease is up, even though you'd be able to purchase it after that.... so my interpretation - gouge as much money they can off of it.

I swear I keep fighting the urge to reach out to my dealer each week to see if there have been any updates and if I've moved up a spot.

New Century BMW just sold an M2 for $10K over MSRP. I was informed they won't get another one until next month with no plans to sell less than $10K markup.

That's disappointing. Anyone know if any SoCal dealers have sold it at MSRP?

Not questioning you, but the dealer: how do they come out better in a lease vs purchase scenario? And BTW, once you've made the deal to lease the car you can buy it outright if you like (and have the funds to do so).

I also don't understand how a dealer can tell a consumer how they can buy a car.

You're correct, I asked them the same question. Apparently leasing this car isn't the way to go. In the end I wouldn't trust this dealership... they tell me first come first serve (once the M2 arrives at the dealership) but they already sold their HEA and it has yet to arrive. Luckily I got an allocation from another trusting dealership and don't have to deal with Long Beach BMW. I was even a previous customer

What a drag, but glad you got an allocation!
