Standing Mile / Runway Event
First time poster here. Did a standing mile event at the old Loring Airforce base in Maine and felt I would share. Location was super cool with a bunch of old hangers and the 13th longest runway in the world (see pics below).
Because its an old runway it was hard getting a good launch and I was spinning the wheels through 2nd, but still was able to get 157.7 at the mile mark. My car is a bone stock 2021 M2C 6spd. I had a bunch of runs (like 15+) and the car had no issues and I was in the 157mph range for basically all of my runs. Speedo was off by a few MPH with 161mph indicated vs 157mph through the timing lights. Highly recommend going to a standing mile event |

That’s pretty cool. I’m sure it was a lot of fun as well. I love doing 1/2 mile events, as well as drag racing. I’ve never done the mile though… did your car feel pretty stable during the run?

Standing Mile events are super fun. I did one in Texas many years ago in my Z4M Coupe and did maybe 12-14 runs and most were around 155+, with top speed of 156mph, if I recall.
