I dunno, he just said it was a $400 core deposit that I had to pay if I wanted it back. (this is a BMW dealer I'm talking about too) I assumed he ships my headlight back to whoever and they give him the money back. I don't have my car back yet so I dunno what I'll be charged, but the estimate shows over $1000 for the headlight (which is the regular price for it I've seen)

I just picked up a M2C with late 11.2018 production. Any chance I have the headlights? I noticed the Valeo headlights on mine have reference to EU & RoW for high beam, but it is SAE spec..

You can look through the lens of your headlights. If you see 3 LEDs then you don't have the Euro spec headlights. I activated Variable Light Distribution and Anti-Dazzle through coding on my US spec car. The Anti-Dazzle is really cool the headlights swivel around and shine far ahead along the side of the road. Unfortunately at times the lights would shine too high into the rear view mirrors of cars in front of me so I decoded Anti-Dazzle and kept VLD.

If you have a US spec vehicle/headlights, it should say "US DOT" somewhere on backing label. That's a certification requirement and the actual reason why there are difference part numbers between the US and the rest of the world's LED Adaptive headlights . The actual hardware itself are the same between the two regions, the only thing that separates them is certification label and software decoding of the VLD, GFHB, and also LHD or RHD. I understand this claim contradicts my previous statements but I was going off incorrect information from some folks here who claim to be 'insiders.' However, on my own personal research have confirm that headlights are the same, you just need to someone to properly code in the mentioned features. The US spec headlight have 4 LEDs behind each projector as the ROW (confirmed). However, the LCI coding for VLD & GFHB is much more intricate than the Pre-LCI (Xenon) and requires a lot more changes that is scattered on this forum. https://motodemic.com/dot-ece-explained/ Below, count four LED diodes per projector, same as the US spec headlights. |

Where did you confirm that it's actually 3 for the US spec vehicles? |

Since I own a 2019 M2C with Executive package, I took a picture of the driver side headlight with my DSLR and used exposure compensation at -3 stops. I took the photo at an angle in order to have the least distortion of the LEDs.

That weird; I counted 4 at a local dealer. Two on top, two on the bottom on a 2018 M2, in NJ. Two Horizontally and two vertically. Hmm.. I'll try to get a photo myself.. |

Do you know exactly what I need to do to code VLD on my LCI? I know it's more intricate

There is a PDF floating around that has all the changes require for the F30 but it's long and requires Esys level coding to access the FLE module. I have yet to see a specific manual to code the M2's LEDs but since it uses the same control module as the F30, so much of the same detail changes are required. If I find the cheat seat, I'll repost it. |

Hi,
I am trying to help a friend retrofitting LED headlights in a pre-LCI F01, replaced FRM and ZGW, but the car has KAFAS1. Any ideas what to FDL code on the FRM, in order for HBA (High Beam Assist) to work, since it requires KAFAS2? |

Those aren't the diodes, that's glare / reflections off the projector lens. That car's headlights aren't on, just the DRLs.
