G87 Purchase Interest Thread

As several of us are showing interest in the G87, I can leverage our corporate relationships with BMW (we are a finance broker that deals heavily with BMW -we buy about 20-30 cars a month from them) when the time comes to benefit members. They can assist in any state so it doesnt matter where you are for this and this will be arranged direct through BMW, nothing to do with our finance business.

Its way to early to do anything now, but if we can start to gather an idea of those who are interested in ordering relatrively early on (eg once released/annouced), drop your details below or subscribe to the post and we can pick this up when the time comes.

Cheers

I’d certainly be interested but not for another two years.

That is unless of course a Porsche 718 or the new Corvette don’t tickle my fancy first

I really want the new G87, I do believe and hope it's gonna look amazing, but my biggest decision is Xdrive or RWD. If it was certain the the G87 will have Xdrive I would have ordered it already, but that's not the case and might not even happen (thou it's fully based on the M3/4 so it won't be difficult to make the Xdrive happen, it's just cost) that's why I'm considering the new M3/4 (even thou I prefer the G87 design (based on leaks) and prefer the weight and mostly the size! The M2 size is perfect I love my OG )

Interested

I'm interested as I like my current M2C and I think the next generation will be the last blast - I'm also considering the GT4 and the Z06 when it arrives.

All 3 fast but very different cars.

I had an email from BMW Sydney on Monday asking for a $5k deposit already to secure a G87.

Thats a little bit rude particularly as there is no G87 code they can put on an build sheet as yet, let alone a price or colour choice. I have been on $500 deposit since mid-2021.
There could be a early deposit push to get a 50th anniversary model locked in but we should be able to see an actual picture of one first?

5 grand? F that guy. And no guarantee of not exceeding MSRP, or any pricing commitment of any kind whatsoever? Get lost. $500 is MORE than plenty to "reserve" basically nothing IMHO. I wouldn't trust shysters like these guys to even keep people in line in the order they made the deposit.

read carefully: "blank contract of sale" - its means f all. it means nothing lodged in for production order books. this is just a pre-order sight unseen when everyone can order the day its actually able to be ordered anyway, without tying up $5k in the meantime.

It would secure your place in line for an allocation as well as purchase price at MSRP or MSRP plus ADM. Dealer document stating the aforementioned and signed by the BMW Center SM will be a legal leg to stand on in the event the selling BMW Center screws you.

$5k deposit to secure a spot in line for an allocation? Eff that!

no, it wouldnt. they cannot order something that cannot be ordered.
I am in the industry and i can assure you nothing happens with your order apart from the dealer sitting on your $5k until the car is released. the moment its released for order, there is no difference if you have an order or walk into the dealership and place an order. This is not a limited production run car...

Yeah that’s a bit rich to want 5k hold for a standard production line model. Prob wouldn’t even be some of the first builds anyway because there will be dealer allocations for display and test cars that will have to go first. I walked in and bought an F87 off the floor when they were new, when I later checked it’s build date (didn’t care but was just curious) it turns out it would have been a pretty early one, just pure chance. No waiting and no handing over thousands of dollars years in advance.

I probably wouldn't order a new M2. I've had a 135i for 4 years, and my M2 for 5. I'm somewhat over the small coupes after daily driving them for 9 years total. Also, if there's no xDrive, it's a no go for me anyways.

I'm going to be placing my order late Dec-early Jan I love the s58 platform, was looking at the m3comp but this is basically a cheaper lighter version (in a sense, I know there is a lot of differences) myself and my team is planning to have the first G87 the with quad digits on the dyno!
