You haven't paid attention.

Back then he said the M2 was the best M car on sale At the moment (new)and now he's saying the same about the M2C as being the best M car on sale today. He's definitely right, IMO.

The 1M he calls the best M car EVER.....new, used, old, or new. I also happen to know he is obsessed with the 1M. Only a matter of time before he buys one. Recently in one of his reviews he was wearing a 1M shirt.

His response, “Thanks so much for the note! I sincerely appreciate your offer.

I’m not sure when I’ll be in Denver again, but I keep a running spreadsheet of people with cool cars, and I’ve added you to it. The next time I’m our your way with some free time, I’ll probably shoot you an e-mail and try to set up something. I’d love to check out the M2 Competition!

I hope all is well — thanks again for the note, and I hope we’ll be in touch soon!”

Seems like a pretty nice dude.
My friend has a mint condition Red on Palomino '88 560SL, that too in San Diego. He emailed Doug and never got a response. Thought that was kind of messed up as it's a remarkable classic in the same town as Doug.

I priced out an X2 M35i and an M340i as I would buy one, against the M2C and the M2C is less expensive! Largely because the other two "need" a lot of options and the M2C is actually OK as a base car--AND one can get a manual!

He addressed this specifically in the video, or did you even watch it?

1) He first qualified it by saying this is "the best M car on sale today."
2) He mentions that the 1M remains his "favorite M car of all time."
3) And later when he gave it a Doug score, he pointed out that it actually scored better than the 1M, causing him to re-evaluate, but he wants to take some time to think about it.

I'm sure it drives like hell, but the proportions are just very odd to me. The short wheel base makes it look a bit goofy.

I'll stick with an M3/M4.

Doug's reviews dig into the quirks and little details that may pop up living with the car on a daily basis that you will never get from a C&D or Chris Harris review.

In one of his latest MB reviews he noted something I never noticed but now cannot un-see every time I look at the front end of a new MB. MB has the star logo on the grill but it's also repeated just above on the bumper cover. He then used a graphic of what a GM would look like if GM put the bow tie on the grill and again above it and it really is kind of ridiculous. Once you focus on that it really does look redundant and unnecessary but I would have never noticed until he brought it up. Go to the 4:05 mark and watch;

Lmao...now I cannot unsee it

Nice review. Def. it was rushed. I was waiting for more then he got to the driving part...

Exactly, it even seems he changed his review score from the one he recorded after he had some time to think about it.

And that's why both exist...Some people prefer a stripped down speed boat and others prefer a luxury cruise ship. Aye aye Captain.

No, the car sounds good at best but definitely not amazing

The M2C is a great car but Demuro has crap reviews. Talks mostly about crap anyone can see for themselves and then drives around on some surface streets and says its the greatest?? I find his content useless, its mostly his weird review of buttons and then he repeats what every journalist and YouTuber has already said.

His reviews are amusing and quirky, but not of a lot of value for driving dynamics. Might be pretty useful for a minivan purchase though.

I like his writing better than his videos. Does anyone know how he creates his "Doug Score"? I'd be curious to see his rubric -- I can't imagine a 1 point difference between the three Ms is meaningful in any way whatsoever. Especially if his "scoring" is entirely subjective.

I like his reviews a lot, easy to watch and cover unique aspects of the cars.

I emailed him once offering one or both of my E90 MSport 335i or GranTurismo S but did not get a response. I really wish he would review a Granturismo since he has reviewed a couple of old Maseratis.

Would be nice to see him review an E9X series 335 or M3, not sure how that hasn't happened....

It's just a gimmick, there is no analysis. I have to hand it to the guy, he really doesn't know much about cars, driving much of anything but self promotion and getting people to watch his stuff. He has worked hard to get to this point and developed a brand that works for him but if your looking for legitimate analysis his channel is not the place to go.
