Options list
So I might finally order one of these babies tomorrow. Got shot down for any discount off MSRP but he said he can work a deal for the PPF. I asked him who does the PPF and he said they do it at the dealer. No idea what brand they use. Anyone have an idea or let the dealership do theirs?
Also wondering where the list of EVERY option is. Like the little things I.e. puddle lights etc. Since they don't show up online. My salesman hadn't heard of an M2 Competition before I called lol. #classic TIA! |

oof I don't know if I would want to buy from a guy who didn't even know about the car, sounds like there's serious potential for him to mess things up if he doesn't know what he's doing.

Yeah I hear that. Figured I'll see what kind of deal they offer me on it. My buddy got his 340i done there and it seems fine from what I can tell. Don't know what brand they are using though.

Most dealerships don't actually do it themselves. The dealership I buy from has a local shop with a great reputation come in and do it. I don't know that I would have been willing to have them do the PPF otherwise.

i cant imagine they do the PPF at the dealer, clearly send it out like tint or whatever. It's a highly specific skill set. Also quite costly so it might be a good little "discount"

I installed the projectors too. I have wanted them ever since I rented a Mustang and saw the pony projected on the street under the door. I don't want to make anyone feel bad, but for others that want to install the BMW LED puddle projectors they are only $109. at AMZN. I had to dremel a very small amount around the door hole of the original light.

I agree with what others said about PPF--it's good to know who is doing the install, the product used, and what sections will be covered? Many people can do a good job, few can do a great job. Even Toyota did a terrible job on the overpriced port installed film on my 4Runner. |

It is not metal. It was just the plastic hole where the LED goes under the door. I just had to shave off about 1/8 inch on one end of the hole. The originals will still fit back in, I checked.

I'm in Finance for BMW of Manchester NH and we utilize Automotive Elegance here as they install at their local shop and have about 350 local dealerships they go to for installs...Just ask them which company they have come in to do the PPF install. Most are really reputable as most dealerships like to go with the company that has the longest track record and best customer service.

And like an idiot I forgot about all the tax. Holy hell 5k in taxes! The way I optioned it was almost 68k after tax. The best they would do on PPF was $200 off lol. And maybe m floor mats...

OP, the out of state dealer I purchased my car also asked me if I wanted PPF installed and I declined. I plan to have the done locally in case there are any issues and easier to get it fixed/replaced if needed.
However I did agree with my client advisor to have the windows tinted and I believe this dealer works with certain 3rd party installers. I'm sure i could of better deal for the tint but I got a little over 5% discount over MSRP for the car so I was content. The tint that was installed was LLumar Air 80 Ceramic Tint. No idea if this product is better than other tints. I believe LLumar is owned or part of Suntek. |

I just scored a set from BMW Minnetonka through Amazon for $109 with free shipping. Thanks for the help!
