BMW 2NH (M Sport Brake) shortage delaying deliveries?
Hi, I am a enthusiastic BMW fan from UK and have a M2C on order.
The vehicle was due for 17th Sep delivery, but I was informed by my dealer last week: there is an overwhelming take rate of the 2NH (upgraded Sport brake) option and BMW's supplier cannot make those parts fast enough. My delivery date is postponed to November. My dealer also said, if I can remove the 2NH option, my original delivery date can be maintained. I have gone back to BMW and expressed my anger and refused the delayed. If this situation is true, I am not sure what my dealer can do. Watched so many US owners collected their cars, (all with 2NH option), This smells a little fishy to me, has anyone received a similar message?

I have been told the same thing in Switzerland...
Funny that BMW decided to deliver first US market (which from I understood has big brakes "by default") to eventually notice that they would run out of stock for that part... I don't think Brembo plans on its own how many parts they have to deliver to BMW without some feedback from them (as usually you have penalties if you fail to fulfil what you committed to...) Probably Europe is not that much important for them on that class of cars. |

sounds like I'll get my car quicker then
Didn't go for the brakes as they just add extra unsprung weight with little benefit unless your on track, the normal brakes can still engage abs etc. 2 month delay sucks though, good luck twisting their arm. |

Thanks for sharing, So far, I believe the shortage situation is real. Let's see what 10 years of loyalty means to BMW.

Have had my order in since May (1st with my dealer) they have also said to me build a October delivery November.... I’m not sure anyone in the UK market irrelevant of brake spec will see a car before the end of October! Originally I was told September......

1. Are you saying the upgraded brakes stop the car quicker? (on first use) 2. They will fade less, however I've never had fade with M4 brakes in 3 years so not an issue for me, I don't do the Alps and I don't do the autobahn where I could see them being very useful. I also don't go on racetracks. 3. I can fit my current 18" oem winter wheel set on the car 4. They add more unsprung weight There's a long thread here, you should go argue therehttps://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&highlight=2nh I wish the OP luck getting the option, luckily we have choice and after much thought I decided to pass on them for (apparently ridiculous) reasons. |

I think your brakes are RHD and therefore they are delayed
No just kidding, this is just ultimate crap. No news at my end yet! All seems to be fine. I will double check with my dealer and see what he says, but nothing wrong so far and all seems to be fine. Anyone else here in Europe with this issue? Ask your dealer just in case! MR |

Also the unsprung weight of in total 16kgs will be noticable. My 18inch winterset already feels less heavy(steering/turning) Cheers Robin |

Am I the only person here thinks getting a build slot within the first delivery batch is lucky enough?

Now, here in UK, M2C discounts of ~5% are out there if you are prepared to haggle and or wait. I've been offered that and other "inducements" to switch from my OG M2 to M2C....
