BMW specialist or general garage to fit AP Racing BBKs?
Hi all,
I am just looking for some general advice really. As the title suggests I am trying to figure out whether to get a BWM specialist garage or just a good general garage to fit my new front and rear AP Racing BBKs and it would be good to get some input. Are there any specific things a "specialist" mechanic will know regarding how to put on these brakes compared to a good mechanic or can a strong mechanic do just as good a job? I'm really not technically minded hence the potentially obvious question, but I just don't want to overpay on labour charges because a garage has a history dealing with BMW's. Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated in order to help me choose the most suitable garage. Cheers, Karl

The fitting of the BBK is straight forward mechanically and anything like wiping down the rotors and torquing bolts to the correct values should be a given.
The question is if the ABS module needs to be bled which will require the BMW INPA tool or similar. Some will say not required and a traditional bleed with the foot will be fine since air will not travel back to the abs unit if u pinch or cap off the line. I will leave others to chime in on this. Personally I would take it to an indi that works on BMW's.

The company I bought the brakes from also mentioned the point on the ABS / BMW tool.
