Winglet Install questions

Two questions:

1) Did you use betalink in addition to the 3M tape already applied to the winglets? The instructions imply using it, but have never heard anyone using it.
2) Will a standard pop rivet tool work with the plastic pop-rivets?

Never use betalink, ever. Personally I've installed parts on countless cars with just self taping screws. Never had an issue

I had my mechanic install them and told him not to use the betalink because I wanted the option to remove them in the future. After he installed them, I mentioned I was concerned about them coming off in an automated car wash, and he was extremely confident they wouldn't. I've been through touchless and soft-touch car washes with them since and was even in a front end accident, where one was hit, and it didn't budge.

2) Yes, if the rivet tool is large enough.

I had the winglets installed just using the tape. Then 1 fell off at the carwash. Luckily i got it back and the installer used a glass glue . Rock solid now
