First Autocross with the M2 Competition (Video and Pics)
I took the M2C to a local autocross event (my third autocross) and had a blast. I'm coming from an M240i and it's like night and day. The M240i was a great car, but the M2C really shined on the course.
A few impressions: The brakes are amazing. I've got the big brakes (US standard) and the car is still pretty new, so I'm getting used to them. I was braking fairly early, but with these brakes you can really brake very late. I'll work on braking later next time. There is so much less body roll than in my M240i and the car really stays planted. This was a fast course (I hit 80 MPH) and even with the stock PSS tires, the car produced a very predictable and easily controllable oversteer in the sweepers. I feel that the car is fast but forgiving, if that makes sense. Feel free to critique the video below. This was only my third autocross and I'll take any tips I can get to improve. |

I'm a road course guy and I've never really done autocross, but your video is like no autocross I've ever seen. They are usually set up in large parking lot and there's a "sea" of cones. Your event looks cool.
