These prices are hilarious. I'll probably just do the AA Midpipe and paint the stock muffler black.

Wonder why it`s not here on the poll
Yeah, I was wondering why it's not on the list. Probably because most people on here are from the US and they haven't heard of LightWeight. Thankfully it's not too far from me. I will drive to Germany and make it a long weekend with the girlfriend 👌🏻

To OP, isn`t the akra slip-on + link pipe = Axel-back + midpipe?

This is a good thread with combined links, videos and prices thanks for putting it together!

Dinan also is in development right now although it hasn't been released and I know many people also opting for gutting the stock muffler and modifying internally to get it sounding like the M Performance.

You have vids for many above which helps people when searching for options, I loaded this one yesterday to my other thread you might want to add to you first post.
Thanks for recording and sharing the video! I added it to the first post

yah I know...my initial intention is to compile all options available and help myself to make a decision. Since I am for sure going to swap out the rear exhaust, AA midpipe with OEM rear muffler was never an option for me. Same reason for the rear box delete and other custom exhaust options are not on the poll. But I did include the video of the AA midpipe with OEM rear muffler in the first post.

That is just a feeling, because it is all so quiet about that exhaust and it is nowhere communicated, the tailpipes tucked in on the white M Performance car at the Essen Motor Show, it just feels as if it is a NO for that exhaust.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, but that is what I think right now.

Now that I think of it, the M2C in Los Angeles Auto show that I saw couple of weeks ago has all the M Performance parts installed, but NO MPE. Not sure if that means anything.

I am surprised to see to poll overwhelmingly leaning towards to MPE, given that its availability is uncertain, pricing is unknown and above all it does not address the rear hanging muffler issue, where it just glorify the box with M Performance logo... I guess most of people would prefer to mod their car with OEM performance parts.

Great job putting this summary & poll together MRI_MKVI.

The AFE appear to be most reasonable. However, I read somewhere it may be down on power on the lower rev range due to its use of 3" pipe instead of 3.5" pipe. Anyone have data/data on the different systems?

You are welcome, thank you for compounding all this data for members to be able to have a one stop shop for exhausts.

We tested a 3" system but there were no notable gains at all. The stock mid pipe on the N55 powered M2 uses piping as large as 80mm, which is larger than 3" (76mm).
