My short European Delivery in my M2 Competition!
This was my second BMW purchase and second BMW European Delivery. I would NEVER purchase a new BMW without European Delivery. The program is so awesome and the memories made in Europe with your new car will stay with you for a lifetime.
I will not bore anyone with a lengthy European Delivery posts as there are hundreds of them on Bimmerpost. I was disappointed with the factory tour this time. At the end where final assembly is taking place. BMW thought it was a good idea to put huge long banners hiding the final assembly. The banners were semi see through. The final assembly is the best part. Why would BMW not want anyone to see this? My first ED these banners were not here. That said factory tour is not that good anymore. I decided to take my M2 Competition on the Nurburgring, fully understanding that insurance wouldn't cover any potential mishaps. I really really wanted pictures from the Carousel in my very own M2 Competition and to not get them after having traveled thousands of miles seemed unthinkable. I took it easy being extra mindful of the break in rules and track being a little wet. I finished the lap unscathed. I never regretted the decision at all, and I would jump on the Ring again if I had to do it all over again. Not everyday I do an ED so I took the risk. The OG M2 seems to be a popular track car at the Nurburgring. Lots of M2's there. Overall the M2 Competition is so fun to drive and is the fastest car I have owned. It got lots of attention in Europe. Every time I got gas people started to talk to me in German about it. Could not understand anything, so people started talking broken English to me. Returning from Stelvio pass and crossing back into Austria at the border. Seemed like everyone was getting stopped at the border. The border patrol asked for my registration, passport, drivers license, etc etc. I did a little boo boo and hit 140 mph for a few seconds following a F80 M3 on the autobaun. After traffic cleared the M3 was pulling away from me at 140 mph. Did not want to push the car anymore so I let the M3 go. M3 was probably hitting 160+ mph. My M2 Competition crossed the Panama Canal today. I should have the car in 2.5-3 weeks. 18 19 21 22 35 34 33 32 31 30 30.5 29 28 27 26 25 23 38

Awesome - I miss being over there! Curious where pics 6-11 were taken?
Totally agree about ED - I won't buy another bimmer if I can't get Euro Delivery. Also agree regarding Nurburgring - shame I got stuck in Strasbourg mere hours before we were supposed to leave for the Ring. Tks for sharing!

You took some nice photos.
I made the drive up to Leipzig to go on the M2 factory tour. It was almost 4 hours long and really interesting. I learned a lot. The Leipzig plant isn't as fancy but they have a great tour. |

Last pic is hilarious. Mind posting which spots you visited in those pics? I went in Oct 2015 for my F80 and loved it. Going again in Jan for my M2C delivery.

I emailed the ED department and they said I was in final processesing center as of yesterday. Final processesing is Navi update, check for damage, etc. I might be getting an oil change there also. I’ll send an email again on Friday. I’m currently in Hawaii and return Tuesday.

I guess our delivery dates should be similar. The difference is your truck is going south and my truck is going north.

M2 in Germany
So lucky!!! When I got my 2016 M2 HEA car I couldn't find anyone who would let me do ED. (maybe the next go around). That said my family and I were just in Southern Germany for the tail end of Oktoberfest. We had a great time. The kids loved Ehernberg Castle and the Highlilne 179. So much fun. While we were in Bavaria I saw a ton of M2's. (6-8 over 10 days). I was real surprised how relatively common they were. It did make me wish I had my M2 rather than the VW people mover we rented to drive the family around in. Congrats on your new M2.
