Dinan Suspension Installed

I was wondering if anyone could provide some input on their experience with the Dinan suspension kit. For me personally the car rides more comfortably and feels more planted, but I was wondering if I'm not riding too high? Can those with the suspension chime in?

I love my dinan coilover set up - absorbs the small bumps on the freeway a lot better for sure .

You went with the Dinan recommended ride height ? I ended up going with 1” front and .75” rear

I asked the techs to go down and inch but I'm not sure if they did that 🤨

You don't look too high. And the car might settle more over the next week making you a bit lower.

Can you guys help me out?

If you have factory suspension can you measure the ride height? Ground to front fender lip)

If you are on a Dinan coilover can you do the same?

I would greatly appreciate this info so I can go back to Turner with specifics / data to back me up.

Thank you

Mine looks slightly lower but not much. Since the Dinan coilovers are slightly softer than most it’s not recommended to go lower due to rubbing potential while going over big bumps

Here are the before and after Dinan suspension pictures. I'm supposed to be lowered 1" front and 3/4" rear. Also seemed it should be a bit lower upfront.

OP remember 1 inch is the max they claim the front can be lowered but they recommend to lower it 3/4 of an inch for best driveability.

Camber plates?

Do any of you use camber plates with the DINAN HAS? I cant find DINAN selling any for the M2. Do aftermarket plates work?

Thanks.

I have Vorshlag plates with Dinan springs. It works.

However, I'm not that happy with the setup - too bouncy up front. I get 2-3 bounces with each bump in the road. I have -2.5 camber up front. The front was lowered 16mm (0.63") and rear 21mm (0.82") from stock. I have 4K miles on the Dinan (24K on the car) and the springs have settled a bit but still not acceptable.

The ride is smoother than stock though if the road is in good shape.

Interesting, I have the KW HAS and have the same issue with bounciness. But the ride is not better than stock I think it is a bit worse. I went and purchased the Dinan so we wil see

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on actual KW and Dinan performance. I will probably be upgrading again.

Have you considered installing the Dinan Sway bars with the suspension.

Pls see the other thread on this subject. Maybe the bouncy ride has something to do with that.

anyone installed these coilover sleeves (Dinan or KW) on aftermarket dampers instead of stock dampers?

The M2 stock dampers are bouncy to begin with if you drive close to the limit on less than perfect roads. Lowering the car on stock dampers will most likely not help with the bounciness.

I msgd someone who had Koni Sport and have the feeling he's running Dinan coils as he had the stage 2 or 4 setup.

Hopefully he'll respond to me or here.

Update: after going on a few hundred mile trip I can report the Dinan HAS is more refined than the KW version. The fact that the KW has M3/M4 spring rates and I had it a set a bit lower than the Dinan could explain the difference. Compliance over bumps and harsh roads is very refined with the Dinan setup. It feels more compliant than stock. The car felt as planted and in my mind handled better because of the bump compliance. I did not notice much bouncyness as others have reported. I would recommend the Dinan over the KW. Very happy I made the switch.

If you are going for pure looks then the KW will get you a nice stance/drop but at the expense of ride quality. If you lean more towards handeling/drivability and stance/looks as a secondary then I would say go Dinan.

Just had the Dinan suspension installed today. Drove around 65 miles afterward, and agree that if you're after a more compliant ride daily, it's fantastic. It settles the ride down but still keeps it fun. Wound up doing the max drop up front and around 1/2" rear to balance the car out. Also wound up doing 12F/10R on spacers and again - no issues. Feels great.

What is the difference between the Dinan suspension and just springs (H&R or Eibach), besides the height adjustment?
