OUCH.
So.. essentially.. the best time to do this is as an upgrade when your car is destroyed by either hail that's so bad it shatters the glass.. or perhaps after you have rolled your vehicle..

One will need to find a specialty shop or a RACE shop to do this. Many many repairers will blanch at replacing a roof...

When you say.. " I would have no issue doing this " are you a consumer or a repair facility employee. ?

in my experience.. glass doesn't " break by itself upon removal.. " glass is BROKEN often times when repair facility employees attempt removal. Whether or not it actually is BROKEN by the shop employees who then say " it broke upon removal" because they were just trying to get it out the fastest way possible.. or... if it was actually broken during a serious attempt to preserve it is pretty much a secret most owners will never know unless the are present and watching the disassembly.

That's what I noticed as well..

Pretty idiotic at BMW mentions that in the document. Let's see what is needed and what the dealer says when I ask for it.

MR
MR did you see the same?

According to the list; the Retrofit Kit 19-inch compound Brake system are not available for the normal M2... Strange?

Well.. brakes were not made available for the OG M2.

brakes are now available for the M2 competition that can be retrofitted to the M2.

Finally.. the M performance calipers are RED.

Silver upgraded brakes are available for the M2 Competition (and they are the same except for color)

Yeah thought the fenders would be more. Anyways interested in hood and trunk, 33lbs savings between the two.

There is no difference in the glass. they might just not care about breaking the glass for speed of removing them, but that makes no sense either since the OEM glass is a fortune.

The carbon fibre roof calamity highlights just how stupid decision makers in BMW actually are.

I am both. I can have a glass company remove the glass and I can do the rest in a weekend. Get the bonding agent and some clamps and good to go. Any competent body shop can do this. Any good tech can also, if they can replace a sunroof cassette than they can do the roof.

This is an m2 not an huracan performante, why don't do the hood in ALU with dome at a reasonable cost.
They have push over the limit in stupid and expensive retrofit.

Why don't make the carbon roof as optional, but the brake yes....are they idiot at marketing???

Same part numbers. Coilovers are also the same. Basically anything that says available now, are the carried over parts.

Didn’t @Mr say US buyers could get roof port installed? When roof is available to order.
