Wagner downpipe with stock exhaust, just throw on some aftermarket tips. Personally think it sounds great, more than loud enough when in sport mode.

Thanks for Sharing, is removing the resonator will add the drone ?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Depends on what other parts of the exhaust you do. If you do the the downpipe and resonator delete there should not be an issue. If you delete the cats, resonator, and muffler. You might hear some drone but that is very subjective.

Thanks,
The resonators job is to quiet some of the sound that comes out of the engine. It's done by bouncing sound waves around inside the resonator to cancel certain frequencies out. They're not nearly as restrictive as a muffler. When you remove the resonator you remove some of the noise cancelling that the acoustic engineers designed into the exhaust. They are designed specifically to cancel out drone or buzz while the muffler on the other hand is designed to quiet the car. I'd be surprised if removing a resonator didn't increase drone to some extent.

He said he's running catless and a Remus now. I was wondering why he wanted to go back to a cat.

If you're talking about my set up, I'm currently running a stock dp so going to a high flow catted downpipe would obviously be the next step.

That aside, there are benefits to running a catted dp vs a straight pipe.

Just wondering, but what decibels are you hitting with your set up and with the valves closed? I'm trying to see if i can run laguna here (where the db limit is 90) with the fabspeed dp and remus catback.

Got it. I miss read your post and thought you were going from cat less to a sport cat.

Very nice

I def reccomend getting the sportcat as well. You need both parts to get the full experience. One or the other isn't good enough IMO.

Unfortunately I have no idea what the DB's are. Never thought to measure them as I don't track the car.

Got my REMUS system installed 2 weeks back and it's amazing.
Heard the MPE earlier and it was good but Remus is as loud and much more refined and deep without any droning.
Just got Bimmerlink + dongle - put it into open (it stays open all the time so no more hassle ) and it's glorious, I cannot stop driving and listen to this, best money ever spent, love it.
No Bluetooth remotes, red buttons etc. Will post a clip when I record it properly.
The cracles in Traction mode just after starting up and driving are insane . Downshifts in Sport/Sport+ around 4k are machinegun like .
Put some 911 owners to shame already their sport exhaust is puny in comparison

No, for two reasons:

1.The Remus is a full catback system. It replaces 100% of the stock exhaust (unlike the MPE). There's no cutting or any leaving any stock components behind. It's a full replacement.

2. It has two thinner pipes running from the cat all the way to the mufflers unlike the stock exhaust (which is one large pipe).

...so unless you wanted to completely butcher this work of art and completely ruin its resale value I wouldn't start cutting it up and welding things on.

I have the same set up, Fabspeed sports cat with Remus cat back. Andrew, perhaps we should let those considering this set up know that upon start up, the noise is extremely unbearable, loud and annoying. I have the CG Precision remote, and even with the valves shut, the start up is just pure nuisance especially in early mornings. when the car warms up, the exhaust note is pure bliss

Same set up as well. Cold starts after the initial growl is quite loud. I love it but be weary of your neighbors

Which is why you need a cold start delete... best feature ever - stock cold start on M2s is sooo loud. If you go catless dp it's unbearable.

Each to their own but I think AA make the best sounding exhaust in the biz.. and offer cold start delete on their tune (biased owner alert)

But then you risk voiding your engine/power train warranty! Personally my "cold start delete" is just holding the rpms at about 1200 where it is quiet and back out of my driveway.

Tune is definitely in the future for me after the warranty period though

Yep that's why I asked, I think it's possible with the MPE. Gonna decide between the two at some point
