When I started my BMW journey, I went into the dealership blind looking for a 1-series. They had one convertible 128. So I ended up with an E90 328i X-Drive that was the worst car I've ever owned (it broke a lot). I still don't know why I stuck with BMW after that horrible experience. Every time I saw a 135 on the road, I wanted to drive it.

We took the same path, my friend (although I haven't gotten my M2C yet, my deposit is down). Traded in my 2011 135i for a '17 Taco...gotta have a truck around but sure doesn't quite drive like a BMW!

The 135 was a great car, pretty damn quick modded. Only thing is the understeer/snap steer which was mostly felt at the track. But otherwise great lil monster.
And now having a proper M car i can definitely feel the difference in handling and smoothness overall. Feels a lot slicker. |

Same situation here. My wife and I got a 140 in 2017. I sold my Z4C after we found out we were expecting. Flash forward two years and I still love that 140 but it’s now festooned with crumbs, my wife’s empty coffee cups and a baby on board sticker. The M2C is me getting my dad time/space back. Very excited!

I came from an M6 gran coupe.
When I change cars is like to change. Having a new one similar to the old one doesn't appeal. Too many cars not enough time... |

The 135 was a good car. I was going to "track-day" the car, but it was going to take some modulations to handle the track - camber plates, springs, control arms, shocks, sway bars, bushings, cooling... It was a good, fun daily driver. To soft and to much roll for the track. The run-flat tires were not good. It greatly improved the ride switching to non run-flat. The 1M became available so I skipped the modifications and traded it in for the 1M. I took the 1M out for a track-day. Only got two sessions in and the charge pipe broke. Not the usual blow off the intake manifold, but split. So, it was trailed back to the dealer. As for performance, loved it except for the slight under-steer if you were really pushing for lap times. Was also great on the street (no run-flats). The 1LE(V6). Unbelievable on handling performance. The most track friendly out of the box production car I have driven. Would not change a thing. Neutral handling; so easy and comfortable to drive on the edge. And, $32k, included $2k for the recaro seat option. Although the physical ergonomics are very good - driver's position, pedals, shiftier, steering wheel; the visual are bad, if not dangerous. With the high door sills and side mirror location you have large blind spots. You find yourself moving your head to look around the side mirror to check for cross traffic at a 4 way stop. The rear window is non functional - could not back up without the backup camera. So, why do I want the M2C? Hoping it has the has the best of the above. And, because I am not 20 something but 60 something. I'll let my daughters flog the 1LE. |

I only drove the MG M2 on weekends, it only had 4900 miles when I traded it in.
