F87 M4 GTS MDM/DSC reviews/impressions?

Hi,

I'm interested in doing the M4 GTS MDM/DSC coding mod, but please can anyone with experience let me know what the different modes drive like compared to stock?

I spend most of my time in Sport mode (LCI software) as I like the throttle and steering (coded to F87CS), however, the traction control doesn't allow for any slide at all really.

When M4 GTS MDM is coded, what is sport mode like? Does it allow a little more slip, but still cut in before the rear breaks too widely, or is the rear all over the place?

Whilst I'm eager to have some added looseness, my wife also drives the car, so I need it to manageable for her also.

Cheers.

I’m interested too. I have the same Istep update and F87CS EPAS coding done too and agree fully with your thoughts posted in other thread.

I did fine the latest istep does allow a tad more slip and certainly helps promote turn in better than my OG software!

Sport mode is going to be exactly the same, no?
If you are specifically changing how the MDM setting works, that is completely independent of Sport mode, at least on a non-Competition model.

When you short-press DSC, the car goes to "Traction" / MDM mode, and it doesn't pay any attention to what you previously were in (it doesn't matter if you "came from" Sport).

The only things I would expect to change are Sport+ (which has MDM "built-in") or "Traction" mode. Regular Sport mode should behave the same as always... unless the coding change you make is somehow affecting traction control as a whole, and not just the MDM mode?

It's identical. MDM coding won't change or affect the Comfort or Sport modes. MDM is only active when the yellow traction light illuminates on your dash.

I didn’t find it worthwhile.

It gave more slip on track than Euro MDM, but was still too intrusive. And, you’re not going to use it when it’s raining.

Thanks for confirming guys.

I drive in sport mode most of the time as I think the sport steering feel is the best (with m2c steering coded on to it), so I probably won't worry about this mid then.
