I had a Focus RS and 14 Evo X, both of which had aggressive Recaro seats. It just seems to fit with the type of car the M2 is. |

When you get car back, can you see if you gained any headroom? Also how does the driving position feel, same or do you feel like you are sitting down more in the car?

[QUOTE=qnet;23141028]I never cared either way, until I got to sit in an M3 at the dealership. I didn't realize they hugged the way they did, and I also like the way they look. Having said that, I do like the stock M2 seats and they can be adjusted tighter.

I doubt that the M4 seats are any lighter - if they are, it would only be marginal. If you're looking for weight-savings, a dedicated racing seat is the way to go (plus cheaper).

I hope the pictures come soon. I think I'm going to have a panic attack!!
Just kidding. We have an M4 that we took the whole interior out of for a "street legal" race car. I saw this post and my talked to my boss. I asked him if we still had the interior. Not only do we have it, it was only sat in long enough to put the car on a trailer to be transported to the shop that did all the work. I believe that was Fall Line Motorsports. I told him I knew somebody who works for him just bought an M2 and would love to have the seats in his car. He said we could work that out. He just wants to make sure they would fit. If I could show him a picture and I'm sure that would help. The good thing is the car was colored Yas Marina Blue and I have a Long Beach Blue colored car so the stitching should work out okay. I've also heard of people swapping the rear seats out with some modification. I'm looking into that also. Might as well do that while the front seats are out. |

I'm hoping to post full pics by the end of the weekend, but I'll try to post pics of the seats installed tonight.

Not a great pic, but will get better ones posted on weekend. As mentioned, seat fits perfectly, and the stitching actually matches the colour of the stitching on the dash - but will likely still dye the stitching to match the Polar Blue of the rest of the interior.

I immediately noticed that I sit lower in these seats, than in the OG M2 seats. This is not to say that the seats themselves are physically any lower in the car or that they can be electronically set lower, I think it is just the seat design itself. The M4 seats feel like they have a "deeper seat pocket" for your rear end...lol, if that makes any sense. I don't have any empirical evidence for this, but I definitely noticed that I was sitting lower in the new seats. I can also say that the M4 seats are heavier than the OG seats, I didn't weight them so I can't say by how much exactly, but it was a noticeable difference between lifting the two. As for fitment, they are literally plug and play. I had BMW do the swap, just to ensure all the coding matched up and everything worked (i.e. heat, etc.). they did swap the control modules as well as it just made it easier to connect the wiring harness (so they said). The only thing I didn't have them do was to run a new wire into the wiring harness for the illuminated seat badge (quote was too high), but I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to do. Here's a couple pics. Let me know if you have any other questions. . . |

Hi! I am heavily considering a similar build. Your seats and cage look great! Is the cage bolt in? Are you able to use a 4 or 6 point harness with the seats? Knowing what you know now, would you do anything differently?
