No speaker sound

Hi guys,

Jumped into the car this morning, everything started up fine, connected via Bluetooth but I had no sound from the speakers.

Tried Bluetooth, DAB, AM, FM etc but no luck. Car also can take and receive calls but nothing comes from the speakers. PDC and seatbelt chimes are also impacted.

Before I book it in under warranty, anyone know the fuse numbers which I could check?

Cheers

If only it was as simple as one fuse!

I’m no expert on this but pulling fuse F126 kills all sound so worth a check.

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...-fuse/KOfDm9Vc

Also F159 does the same

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...-fuse/KOlfR944

All part of the ASD. There may be other fuses as well, maybe someone else can chip in with ideas.

When my amp died I had a lot of static noise through the speakers before it finally went so could be the amp itself.

Good luck fella.

Thanks for the reply!

Checked those fuses and all seem to be ok unfortunately.

When driving today, sound briefly flickered on then cut out again. Would that happen if the Amp was the problem?

Looks like it might need to be a dealer visit.

It would, mine used to work intermittently so a dealer visit would be your best bet.

Mine is in again 1st Feb as the sub under the passenger seat has intermittent noise no audio and ASD seems to have packed up.

Exact same problem here. Going to dealership on Friday. Will let you know what they find...

As a side note - driving with no ASD has been nice...

Amplifier replaced. Dealer says two more cars have been in with same problem. I am picking the car up on Friday, so hope it’s all fixed.

No ASD is great. You can really appreciate your MPE with ASD off.

My sound is intermittent

I see a few of you had work done at the dealer. My problem is I have 55K miles, so I am past my warranty. What did they end up doing to fix the problem, your posts were all prep completion of work done.

spoke too soon.. happened again today.. Im out of warranty. You think i can swap it out with a used OEM one? or does it requiring coding etc..? Also found this.. BWM admitted to this issue in 2019. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...61573-9999.pdf

Hello, what was the solution? Going through the same exact thing with my M.Y 16 with 20k miles right now… I have had the discharged battery message for a few months now so I was thinking it might be related to that

I have an M2C 2020 and since I bought it I was hearing randomly some loud distortion noise every once in a while that would last for 1 or 2 seconds, specially after leaving the track. I wasn't sure if it was diff related or sometimes a stone stuck in the wheels. Today I was driving going to work and this distortion sound started going very loud and wouldn't stop, I had to stop the car and turn it off it was deafening and driving me insane. So I think my amp is finally done. What is strange is that the noise has always been coming only from the rear right speaker.

Since I'm out of warranty I'm getting my car checked next week and probably install an aftermarket amp to replace it since replacing with an oem amp I guess it will fail again eventually.

There are many people with this problem and these are very unreliable amps apparently:

In case your noise goes crazy like it happenned to me, they say pulling fuse 122 will turn off the radio and stop the noise:
