This is becoming a swinging D party comparing the M2 to the M2C. If you were able to pick up either, congrats you got an amazing car. I bet if the 1M was developed with the S65 there would have been the same comparisons everyone is making with the M2 and the M2C. The M2 is the foundation for the M2C and models will always keep getting updgrades. The fact that you have an M car gets an applause from me no matter what. Do I wish I can get the M2C? of course, but i'll enjoy the M2 for now until i can decide what my next move is.

You can make and argument on that for initial cost only. Replacement cost of the factory CCs is insane, plus I believe with heavy track use actually wear sooner than regular aftermarket steels.

And it's not just about tracking and track days. It's every time you take the car out onto any kind of winding course - be it a track or some superb twisties in the mountains. |

OG M2 is a bargain. It is NOT 25k less of a car. IMO.
Referring to used hyper low mileage 2016/2017's. I wish I'd waited. And agree...99% of the people will not notice 150lbs while driving. Especially since the 2c has more torque. Feels faster. 25k faster??? |

iv got a m135i and looking to upgrade to an m2 which i can pick up a 2017 model for like 1/3 cheaper then a m2c. From people who have owned both the m2 and m2c should i wait a couple years to purchase an m2c or is the m2 a worthy upgrade?
Im literally looking for a car to have more fun with in the bends (plus i can transfer all my engine mods to the OG m2)

For having driven several times a M240i, I wouldn't call it a real M-car, even if its a great car with a terrific engine: it's too mundane, its brakes are too faint, its suspension is too soft, its exhaust noise is too quiet. You can even have it in x-drive version... Oppositely, the OG M2 fits the definition perfectly. Now, BMW purists could use more strict definitions of a M-car: a pure race car sold in sufficient quantity by BMW to make possible its homologation, or at least a track-oriented BMW with a big naturally-aspired engine (no turbo). And I guess that a kid fan of Batman, its bat-car and other bat-gadgets, would define a real M-car as a BMW with M-mirrors, a M-hood, a M-engine, M-buttons, M-seats, a M-trunk, M-wheels, etc... |
