Get a rotor hone, attach to drill, scrub off your rotors completely and rebed fresh pads

Hi Guys

changing the subjet, i fitted Endless ME22 pads to my car with goodridge cables and endless brake fluid, now i had to take them off because they were too noisy so i put on the endless anti noise shims and ever since i've put back on the endless pads the pedal is softer with the anti noise shims then without. i am wondering if this is the reason or if some air got into the brakes and i need to bleed them?

please help

Kris

I've never used anti rattle shims but generally I wouldn't use them with a track pad. I would flush your fluid then see if you still have the same problem. If you do remove the anti rattle shims.

Are you running track pads 100% of the time? I would switch back and forth. Make sure your street pad and track pad compounds play nicely on the same rotors though.

Don't replace rotors just because you have pad deposits. Order a rotor hone, put it on a drill and scrub the rotors clean and then re-bed some fresh pads. Never use stock brake pads on track.

If your track pad is abrasive enough cold, use that to scrub the rotor clean. Then bed them in again.

Sounds like uneven pad deposits on your discs. As others have noted, friends don't let friends drive OEM pads on the racetrack. Seeing how Watkins Glen is arguably the single toughest braking track in the country, it's not surprising that you ran into issues.

Please check out these videos. They explain how to remove uneven pad deposits when swapping pads, and how to bed-in your new pads:

After you've done that, at the very minimum get yourself some good track pads and fluid:
