Aluminum charge pipe stripped meth bung thread

Hi, recently got an aluminum charge pipe (VRSF) and undid the 2 meth bung plugs (1/8 NPT) to apply loctite before plugging back in.

First one came out fine and went back in smoothly with loctite. The second one was really hard to get out and when it came out, saw that the threads were basically stripped on the top of the thread.

Has anyone also run into this issue with aluminum charge pipes? I don't really have access to a shop to weld or retap. Any ideas on getting this meth port plugged? Is it possible to plug using epoxy?

The aluminum threads are also completely stuck within the plug threads. Tried a new plug but pretty sure would just further ruin whatever remaining thread was left if I tried to drive it back in.

Reached out to VRSF earlier this week and they asked for pictures but haven't heard back since sharing pics.

VSRF should replace it. Did your stock pipe blow?

Luckily the OEM charge pipe is still holding up at 40k miles. Warranty on the 2017 expired recently so thinking about swapping CP now instead getting a surprise later.

I also got an intercooler but would be kind of annoying to install it without CP and then pull it out later to put in the replacement charge pipe in so trying to think of workarounds for the bad plug so I can just do everything at once.

If they don't replace it you could helicoil it, or retap it at a larger size and buy a different plug. Sorry this happened to you OP.

Also I don't recommend loctite especially not red. I find that ptfe tape (if you're careful at wrapping to skip the first few threads at the bottom of the plug so no tape ends up inside of the pipe) or ptfe paste is a better solution. It is easier to remove the bung in the future if need be, and provides a better seal if you somehow mess up with the loctite.

It's too late for me I already got a charge pipe. But hopefully they can get OP sorted out because he needs help asap.
