I just tightened mine up until they felt the same as the other side, should have used a torque wrench but didnt think of it.

Used the other side as reference for that and did it by feeling. One of the bolts is different from the others though (the topmost one), careful with that if using a power tool.

Got my car back from getting tint/suntek. My wife is out of town and shes the photographer though so don't have any great pics of it.

Tint: 30% F1 Pinnacle

Suntek: full front (hood, bumper, fenders, mirrors, headlights) + rocker panels and a strip behind the rear wheel well where i was taking some rock hits already.

Just for my own education, why suntek as opposed to xpel or 3m? Car looks awesome btw!

Thanks!

The shop I normally use for tint uses suntek for ppf. I almost did xpel after seeing the pics of the stealth xpel lbb m2 in austin but I decided in the end to go with the guy I've done a lot of business with in the past and know the quality of work he puts out. Also the austin xpel shop didnt respond to my email asking for a quote and availability so that helped my decision.

My ten year plus window tint guy, Umbra in the Chicago area, recommended Suntek over xpel for my BSM. He installs both. He told me that the suntek has less orange peal effect that would be visible on the BSM more than on the lighter colors. He also told me that the warranty on the xpel is longer than on the Suntek. He would install either and asked me to make the call. I installed the Suntek.

Good info! The shop I am going to end up using does both xpel and suntek, so just trying to go in there educated and then take their expertise into account as well. Thanks!!

I'm getting MG so this may apply to me as well, good to know. I'll keep you all posted when it's my turn to get ppf done in a few weeks

Excellent, first time out in the M2 and set my fastest time at Phillip Island. I did a 1:53.3, about 2.3s slower than a Ferrari 458 on the day. I put it down to the driver!

I really loved it out on the track, so much more predictable, fluid, balanced than the 1M. Car was completely stock, did absolutely nothing to it before hand not even change brake fluid as usually that'd be the minimum I'd do.

Took me a couple of sessions in the morning to get used to the gearbox (DCT), shift points, work out different settings (Sport+ etc) along with setting up my GoPro and figuring out how to use the laptimer on the steering wheel.

Next track day booked for Sunday at Winton.
The M2 is such a great all round package, fun on the road and very capable on the track. On the track it felt much more at home than the 1M ever did. Not wanting to start a flame war, just sharing my view on owning both cars.

I wouldn't do this as I prefer de carbon, but would also like to see some more alcantara on my car. "To each his own".

How does it look in person, happy with the result?

Derek at Atlanta Protective Films told me the same. Xpel has more orange peel than SunTek and doesn't look as clear, especially on dark cars. He put Xpel on my front bumper and rockers and SunTek everywhere else. I have LBB and am very happy with the result.
