1) The side mirror angle seems to get fucked up whenever I fold my mirrors in. I fold my mirrors when I pull into my garage, and every time I have to reset them up. it seems to only be there driver's side US version) mirror that does this. It's annoying.

2) trunk opens all the damn time. I swear to god, a dozen times or so I get into my car, and I get the dash warning that my trunk is open. I don't ever go into my trunk. there has never been an object placed in my trunk. no other human in this world has access to my trunk. what the fuck...

I rarely fold my mirrors in so I can’t really comment on that one but I have not had the issue with my trunk and I do use it.

For the first one, are you swapping out keys often? Each key is tied to a driver profile. Whatever set your using might have different mirror settings.

For the second, there's a trunk release down below the level to pop the hood, are you hitting it with your foot/leg?

I only use one key. I keep the other hidden away just incase I lose the primary.

I don't think so? Maybe if it's a push button it's possible. I've never used the trunk release, didn't even know there was one down there.

I've seen the mirror issue where they return slightly off after folding. I don't fold them very often anymore because it seems like they stick out nearly as much folded as not, but yeah that always bothered me

Do you have the key in your back pocket? I usually do, and I must butt-dial the trunk once in a while... I know for certain it's not me kicking the trunk release button, I must be doing it when I sit on the stair going to the garage because I've never heard it unlock when I'm getting in/out of the car

at least I'm not the only person with dumb ass mirrors.

I keep the key in my front pocket ever since I saw that keeping things in the back pocket causes back problems, and it's easier to rob someone's back pocket. if it keeps doing it, I'm going to have to take it in. bleh.

Never heard of either of these issues on any m2 or m2c.

Maybe you're hitting the trunk release on the key fob. I had that happen, so I bought the BMW M case for it now it's never an issue.

For the mirror, maybe save the driver profile once you set up your mirrors. Then if it's fucked up just hold the button on the seat for it to recall all your profile settings. Maybe if you never saved a profile this is what happens?

Are you folding in the mirrors by hand? If so, maybe you're pressing the mirror glass while doing so.

No issues here. I fold the mirrors daily at work. The trunk has never opened unexpectedly. Hopefully an easy fix for you if there is a problem.

I left my key in my car over night just to be sure I wasn't doing this. Sure enough, I got in the car, and the trunk was open again.

I do have a driver profile saved. And I made sure I had the same profile saved to both keys. I do not recall however if I set the mirrors in the profile. Hrm... I'm going to have to double check this. This might be what's going on. Thanks for the suggestion!

Try getting the M Performance or a similar sleeve for your key fob. You could be hitting the trunk release button by mistake while it's in your pocket.

Regarding the mirrors, are you talking about the actual mirror or the housing not lining up when folded?

When I fold my mirrors, my drivers side absolutely does not tuck in like the passenger. Pokes out about 15%.

I coded my car to fold mirrors when I lock the car, so I've def noticed the don't align.

In my case w/the mirrors not returning properly, it's subtle. I have them saved to a profile, and it works perfectly as long as I don't fold mirrors. If I do, next time they return to position they are both canted in further to the car. Recalling profile returns them to that same whacked spot. I see more rear fender on both L&R in other words.

My solution? f#ck it, I stopped folding mirrors and all is well

Ah, sorry. For some reason I thought the M2 mirrors never fold on their own. But that's because I have always had mine coded to automatically fold when the doors are locked. I totally forgot you can activate the folding with a button on the door.

I had the trunk open one time when I was getting in the car and I'm pretty sure I hit the trunk button on there. only happened once, but was like WTF? then I realized I might have squeezed the button getting in.

I have an issue where the DCT transmission will sometimes automatically switch from drive to sequential without touching anything. Nearly redlined the thing a couple of times and smelt some magic smoke leave. Anyone else have this?

Also the seat settings don't save and connected app rarely works. Not a super fan of the electronics tbh.

Mirrors and trunk though - no problem lol

Mirrors - no issue.

Trunk - done this many times on different BMW's. I put my fob in the small front pocket on my jeans. Sometimes I nail the trunk release just right when I bend down or some weird body angle.

I was referring to your position of the mirror itself, not the housing. I've had no issues with them folding. but the mirror it's never in the same position after unfolding them. but now I'll have to check that too. haha

Same here. I fold my mirrors on a daily basis with no issues.

No issues with the trunk either!

Have you done any coding? My F30's trunk latch would release constantly after I coded it. I ended up updating the ISTEP to fix it. Could be a software bug you're experiencing. I would definitely take it in to the dealership and have them determine if it's a software related or something else.
